Who's Isaac btw? All I can think is Isaac from Dead Space or The Binding of Isaac, but I seriously doubt either would make in Smash.

Shovel Knight is an indie and doesn't qualify by default, according to Sakurai himself. Snake definitely needs to come back though, hopefully along with Rayman.



Isaac is the protagonist of the first Golden Sun, and was an assist trophy in Brawl, the one with the giant green hand that pushes you to your death.

When I saw that "Isaac" was one of the most popular choices my mind went straight to The Binding of Isaac. Now there's an idea.

Yeah but at the same time it's still Nintendo's Smash Brothers. Too many 3rd party characters won't cut it. We have to (Rayman) choose wi(Rayman)sely (Rayman).

Lucina, Roy and Chrom, EACH should've gotten in as alt costumes, like what Bowser Jr. has.
Rayman has a LOT more competition than that. Ridley, K. Rool, Isaac, Snake, Wolf..

At first it was looking good, but I'm not sure about that anymore... Now it just depends on how many characters we're actually getting. If only they'd make New 3DS/Wii U exclusive DLC, we'd surely get even more. They'll surely make money with this, it's such a huge opportunity, that they have really no reason to not to do this.

Okay ^^. I personnally have never played a Crash game but I understood that they originated on the PlayStation. Hence, I wondered the legitimacy of those who claim that he deserves to be in Sm4sh.

Jokes aside though, I wasn't serious about Roy, I just think he gets more hate than he deserves, but I do agree Fire Emblem has too many characters.

I've kind of went back and fourth and discussed the whole Metal Gear thing with few peeps- I do think Big Boss would be a decent addition- it'd be a good way of promoting Metal Gear Solid 3D. Sure- Snake is more a recognizable character, but still. I think Konami needs to get there act together and start being more supportive of MG games on Nintendo consoles before we see any MGS characters though in my opinion. I know the whole "too many third party characters debate", but I think both Rayman and Snake (or Big Boss) are all way more likely than say- Crash Bandicoot or Abe.

If we're talking first party, I would definetly like to see Isaac from Golden Sun for sure, I don't know much of the series but it would encourage me to try it out more. To be fully honest in terms of first party I'm just so insanely satisfied with the Smash 4 roster- but we need to be realistic here- Snake and Rayman likely aren't going to make it in as much as I want them to!

I also stick to my guns that Dr. Mario was honestly a huge waste of a character slot, a fun character but he hardly has many differences from Mario in his move list. He should've just been a skin like it was in Project M (oh no I said a bad thing.) Same goes to Dark Pit.

Anyways- Snake doesn't top Rayman for me, I think Rayman would just be such an awesome addition and to see him far behind in that reddit list... well... it saddens me.

Hell, even the fake leaker is encouraging us to vote for Rayman!
We just need to think realistic here really, as far as I know, Isaac from Golden Sun isn't too known but he is Nintendo exclusive so he very much has a chance. Brad is right though, I think we have way too many Mario, Pokemon, and hell, even Zelda characters. I think we should look at the more obscure Nintendo titles.

Some first party characters I'd love to see are definitely King K. Rool because I'm a huge Donkey Kong Country fan and we need more villains in Smash. And the other is the Inkling Girl from Splatoon. That game is coming along real nicely and I think she'd make a nice fighter.

Well Big Boss and Snake are two different characters so yeah. Snake was a bit out of place but a lot of MGS games paid huge tribute to Nintendo, on Twin Snakes for Gamecube you could find Mario and Yoshi status through out Shadow Moses island, and there were few Yoshi statues in Snake eater. So there's clearly a bit of love there on both parts. Hence how Snake likely made it into Brawl.

I think it would raise awareness for people to check out the MGS series too.

As a person whose played Shovel Knight and beat it, I think the main character is just way too purposely over-exaggerated to be in Smash. I'm also not too much for Shantae but I'd much rather see her than Shovel Knight personally, the game is fun but his character just doesn't do much for me personally.

I did state this earlier but I REALLY do think thanks to this fake leaker, we were shown that Rayman being in Smash is a likely possibility (the first 3D model was really iffy but he eventually fixed it and it looked genuinely legit.) I would never rule out the possibility for him.

Here are my thoughts on the characters being discussed right now (aside from Rayman):

-King K. Rool - Like I said before, highly unlikely. I say this not because he's been absent in most Donkey Kong games since DKC3, but because I really don't see a full moveset being made for him. If any other DK characters were to become DLC, it should be Dixie and/or Cranky, what with the success of DKC: Tropical Freeze and, in Dixie's case, the popularity of DKC2 even to this day.

-Solid Snake - I didn't really play as him a lot in Brawl, but I thought it was interesting that they added him in. I wouldn't mind him as DLC for this game.

-Shovel Knight - I'm not entirely against this idea, but I'm also not sure if Indie characters are eligible. Like Solid Snake, it'd be interesting to see.

-Crash Bandicoot - Loved him as a kid, would love him in Smash. Sadly, I don't think any of the Nintendo-platform Crash games sold very well, so I doubt he'd make the cut. If I'm wrong about that, then maybe there's a chance.

-Roy - We already have enough Fire Emblem characters, and we already have a Marth clone, let alone clone characters in general. No thanks.

-Shante - Never played any of her games, can't really say I care.
