I will defend my country when it’s insulted but other than that I’m pretty chill. I’m not that fond of my country but it’ll do

I wouldn't be too sure : I'm on team human, after all...

As for patriotism, I guess I'm a bit patriotic. Chauvinistic for the Olympic Games, that's for sure. Protecting my country? I guess, I served in the army after all, but it's not about protecting a nation or values or ideals, it's mostly because most people I love live there and I value their life more than mine (something I'm currently working on).

Whereas in Rayman's case, even the creators don't "get it", and so I guess only the fans do  (cf. viewtopic.php?p=1425711#p1425711, viewtopic.php?p=1471960#p1471960, etc.)

Ngl, I've never felt more Spaniard than this year with the Eurocup and the Olympics

Maybe not being active will give clues as to whether I'm ready or not

Anyway, here you have the results from the last poll:

The next one is being a hot topic right now. As we're getting closer to the release of GTA 6, it has been said that players must be aware that production costs have increased, which may imply games to be more expensive. In this case, for example, rumors mention that GTA 6 could be the first vanilla game to cost €100.

So, this week we ask you if you think this is completely understandable or not. Would you pay €100 for a game, or do you think games should never be that expensive?

I voted option two. GTA6 will hopefully be massive which is why £100 could be justified, but if Activision just uses it as an excuse to pump out £100 call of duty games, we will riot

I think it's perfectly acceptable if the game comes with a lot content. Not all games are born equal after all.

Honestly it feels like we're reaching a bit of a breaking point when it comes to bigger priced games, it feels like there's just an inevitability of bugs and botched launches for big budget games that makes the initial full price for admission somewhat laughable considering the sub-par experience given.

Much rather wait until they've been patched and by that point they're usually on sale, if they even are interesting to begin with. I think the other issue is with higher budgets comes greater risk-aversion cause there's more need for a return on all that money put in, and I feel that makes for games that are perfectly fine, but not always the most interesting or varied. I suppose if it hits the lowest common denominator fair enough, but it means if you're not dealing with a popular genre why bother making anything?

It's a valid concern that a higher price tag could set a precedent that other game publishers could take advantage of in the future, without releasing games with anywhere as much content.

I maybe play one game per year, or even every two years, so my experience might not be representative of the whole offering out there, but I still feel that the ones I play are extremely cheap when I put their price in perspective with the amount of time I spend playing them. By the hour, it's easily an order of magnitude cheaper than going to the movies!

Nice, I guess :)

In regards of the topic... Well, I don't really like the idea of paying a lot of money for something, but I share humch's thoughts on this:
(...) but I still feel that the ones I play are extremely cheap when I put their price in perspective with the amount of time I spend playing them. By the hour, it's easily an order of magnitude cheaper than going to the movies!
And here's as example with real data... When I bought the PS4 in 2017, I also bought GTA 5 to play online with friends (I completed the story mode on PS3, it wasn't necessary at all to complete it again since it wasn't, in my opinion, as great as the one in GTA 4, for example). After seven years (84 months) playing GTA Online almost weekly, the stats indicate that I've played it for 86 days, 3 hours and 13 minutes, which are 1992.21 hours (23.7 hours per month), if my calculations aren't wrong. Initally, I didn't like the idea of paying €50 for something that I've played on PS3, but what can I say after 1992 hours? €50 are absolutely nothing.

However, not gonna lie, I have contradictory feelings with this. Considering what I said above, I don't mind paying €100 if I'm going to have a lot of fun and I'll spend lots of hours with that game. However, how will I know that? Of course, I can avoid paying €100 for FIFA or similar games, but what if that specific game that I thought I'd enjoy isn't as good as I initally thought? Also, games like GTA are going to add microtransactions, and considering the amount of players they'll have (and the amount of players that are going to pay for their microtransactions), is it really necessary for them to sell the game a bit more expensive?

An idea for the next poll could be “do you think that euthanasia is morally correct” :D

Indeed it is! We actually studied both points of view in philosophy but I’ll say a bit more of my thoughts on that at the time
