When < went to Cuba when < was thirteen, < did the same thing. < brought <'s GameCube and plugged it in, and when < turned it on, there was a strange sound. Obviously it fried the power brick, but the GameCube itself was fine. The brick also rattled when shook.

< recalls an old black and white TV that < got from <'s grandpa's flea market booth that wasn't working properly, and < found out it was simply due to the switch set for 240v supply, and setting it for 120v made it work perfectly. < knew the TV itself wasn't bad since it worked with 12v supply in the car. This was when < was a little kid.
