That seems pretty profound… Henchman 1000 is your favourite character, right?
PluMGMK wrote: Fri Jun 04, 2021 11:32 am Last night, I had some kind of dream that randomly involved a Charmeleon, even though I haven't had any particular interest in Pokémon for well over a decade. Then in real life, when I checked my personal emails this morning I found one opening with this sentence:
Which sounds cuter, a Pikachu or a Charmander?
:paranormal:
Mystery solved… This was around the time I got my new phone, and I must have been setting up root access. One of the colour schemes in the Magisk app is called "Charmeleon", so that's what put it in my mind! I just forgot until today, when I randomly had a look around the Magisk settings again!
The email was still a funny coincidence though!

Since I posted that, I've had a dream in which I got fired, and another in which my working day was just completely bananas – banal enough I guess!

Yep. I used to obsess over him when I was younger. I still like him to this day, but not much as I used to. He appears in my dreams when I do research on him, his design and whatnot.

There's a theory that a subject will subsequently appear in your dreams if you think about them enough or see it enough. Also even things that are not relevant to you or avoid altogether.

I dreamed last night that Google decided to phase out the "YouTube" brand.

Now today in real life, Facebook has changed its corporate name to "Meta" :mefiant:

I can't believe that happened.

Recently I had one of those dreams where you wonder if you are asleep or not, then you enter a new room with some weird stuff that was not supposed to be there, and you are like "yep, I'm asleep".

I've been having a lot of weird dreams lately… Last night I had a multi-layered, at times quasi-lucid one, which seemed to heavily involve Voldemort. Then at another stage, I was in my bed and my mother came in wondering why I'd been yelling and screaming in my sleep, to which I replied "strange dreams", and then I proceeded to remove a scary-looking book from a shelf in my room, wondering how it had got there. But that all turned out to be part of the dream too.

The reason for this bad night was anxiety over escalating tensions in Eastern Europe, but it's kinda interesting how my mind transmuted it into Harry Potter-related stuff. I guess it's to do with what Indy said before, about stuff turning up in your dreams when you haven't been consciously thinking about it recently… There is various Potter-related merchandise in the house, and the books themselves are all on my shelf, so it makes sense that it's always there subconsciously…

I also have the Harry Potter books in my shelf, sometimes I even reread them before sleeping, and despite that I can't recall having a dream involving Harry Potter in recent times. My dreams (when I remember them) are often a mixture of personal stuff with things I saw on YouTube, so they can get really weird.

Another weird one from this morning…

I dreamed I had an eight-year-old cousin (I don't – I think my mind modelled the character on Lisa Simpson), and she told me she had – wait for it – endometriosis. :paranormal: At first, I said nothing, but I became more concerned when the pain seemed to be making her lash out at other members of the family. I took her aside and said something like "I don't think endometriosis can actually affect someone so young, are you sure you have it?". Apparently it was self-diagnosed, so I suggested that it might be all in her head, and urged her to see a professional – or, more precisely, to have her parents arrange for her to see a professional.

After I got up this morning, I looked up the disease on Wikipedia, since it was a random thing for my mind to have come up with, and I don't actually know that much about it. I read the introductory section, and it said that the disease can have social effects, that professionals often fail to identify it, and that it can begin as early as eight years old. :paranormal: It's as if I'd read that text before, sublimated it, and eventually dug it up as the basis for a really weird dream plotline. Not sure when I would have read it though, or why…

I recently had this nightmare:

I went to a store that sold old media (including rare VHS tapes), while checking some of the tapes and came across a person I knew. This person recommended me a certain VHS tape that had a clown in the cover and told me that if I managed to watch it until a certain point, he would give me something special. I decided to get the tape and went back home, I was tired so I decided to go to sleep and watch it later. That night I had a dream, I was in the same store I went to earlier in the day, the store was empty and I was wondering around, but suddenly, a clown appeared near one of the shelves and made a loud noise, there was something wrong with its face (it was not the same that appeared in the cover of the tape) but I could not register it because the moment it appeared I tried to look away as fast as possible. Suddenly I woke up (within the dream) and felt very disturbed, so despite being very early in the morning, I texted the person that recommended me the tape and told him that I needed to return it as soon as possible, the person replied with: "Are you sure about that? Don't you want to prove you're brave enough to watch it until the end?".

After that I don't remember what happened, except that for a period of time I was in bed and I could not move until I fully woke up.

A dream within a dream, culminating in sleep paralysis? Sounds like an unsettled mind… Was the clown connected to Poltergeist by any chance?

It is difficult to know, I can't even remember how the clown looked, the only thing I know is that the face was so unsettling that I didn't want to see it again.

Well, since I was discussing nightmares with you, I ended up dreaming about a boss fight against Slender Globox last night :fou:

It was kind of a pivot point in the dream: up to then it had been about Rayman 3 scores, and there was some weird thing about not counting a certain section of LS. Then I was actually playing DOTK6 (where you first try out the grimace) but suddenly the controls became weird and unfamiliar (this is because I recently realized I haven't yet verified that Rayman 3 is playable on the keyboard I bought about a year ago!). I realized they had switched to the keyboard+mouse controls of the second Harry Potter game, and at that point it turned into a fight against Slender Globox which worked like the Aragog boss fight in the HP game.

Then the rest of it seemed to be just hanging around Hogwarts, exploring places, with a general sense of unease but nothing too scary going on… Probably because we also discussed Harry Potter in this thread earlier this year :hap:

I like the idea of SG being an actual boss in a Rayman fangame (maybe in his own minigame or as a companion for Noseless Rayman). I think some days ago I also had a Harry Potter related dream, I was looking from above in a building that looked like a church, while Dumbledore was blocking spells that Voldemort was casting; at some point death eaters started possessing civilians that were unconscious (aside from that I can't remember much).

The other night I had a dream that I was in school and there was some Irish homework I hadn't done. Everyone else was talking about it and I seemed to have just forgotten. I checked and I hadn't written it in my journal, then I realized I hadn't written anything in my journal for ages… And then I was like, yeah, it's not like I've nothing better to do than homework… Then, wait, I have a job now, that means I don't go to school anymore! :P Then I remembered I was on holidays and that I could sleep away for another few hours :hap:

I… You… WHAT? I reckon it's come up at least once a month in my time here… Maybe more when spiraldoor was here!

I had more dreams last night due to the excitement of Record Day. There was one where someone kidnapped my cat, and another where my dad got pulled over by the cops (or something)…

I had a dream where I was involved in a standoff and in a moment of desperation I shot a girl holding a gun and ran off. I don’t know what happened afterwards since I woke up

That reminds me, a few weeks ago I had a dream where someone came over to my car window while I was stopped in traffic, asked me to open it and then shot me right in the chest. And I felt it! :paranormal:

So last night I dreamed that a little snake made its way into our house. My terrified mother somehow managed to immobilize it, and asked me to remove it altogether. After trying to come up with some way of doing this without touching it, I eventually just picked it up firmly with my bare hands and marched out the door. It was only when I tried to let it go that I ended up getting bitten, and then I had no idea whether or not it was poisonous, so I wasn't sure how worried I should be.

Of course there are "no snakes in Ireland", but there are some as pets and in zoos, so I guess in the dream some of those had escaped and started reproducing, resulting in a small population of them in the wild…
