Your right about that Master. I haven't seen a Sonic game that has spilt the fandom this much since Sonic Unleashed.

Can I just say that Clement's Wii U review is just perfect?

I mean, I would of said one or two more things. But he has it right. People need to just stop expecting easy games and improve themselves, every time a hard section comes up.

While I still think there are one or two gimmick levels that I don't like, period, and that this game should convey it's controls better, it's really fun regardless. A part of me likes it even more than Adventure 1, simply because it's much more polished. I mean, even though the controls were badly explained, I still took the time to go back to Windy Hill Zone 1 to practice and get better. People just need to get out of this "charge ahead" mindset, and realise that if they are struggling with understanding how a game works, they should practice. If you can't use a character well in say, a Tekken game, you'd boot up Practice Mode to get better. Practicing in the first level is the platformer equivalant.

I don't think this EXCUSES the poor conveyance, but it makes it a much more minor issue. If a game doesn't explain itself well, but the controls are great when you know what you are doing, then those are still good controls, and this is the case with Lost World. You just need to take initiative and get better at the game.

EDIT: Oh dear, now it's really Super Sonic Galaxy!

If you're trying to fool people by making them think these videos are of the actual game, you could at least not still be in Green Hill Zone by Part 5. :V

The problem is that I kept restarting from the first level each part...
Anyway, I'm making a Sonic fangame...I'm not sure where it's going but it might flop...

And part 6,

From here it's all going to be progress on completing this one hack, which is basically just Sonic 1 except with super sonic, ability to spindash and sonic 3 drums.

Hm, it does sound quite like Ice Cap Zone.

We were checking this out this morning and I hadn't stopped listening to it since I got home. :oops2: I would like to grab it on Amazon but bah it's US-only.

I was looking at that. It certainly seems quite interesting, and it is almost certainly where Ice Cap Zone originally came from, as Brad Buxer worked on some of the music in the game and was also the lead pianist in The Jetzons. I quietened the vocals in audacity and while there are some differences, it is definitely very similar to Ice Cap zone.

And the fandom exploded for the...I've lost count.
Meh, could just be how the game is styled, much like how Mario had realistic denim on his overalls in Brawl.

I've heard of this before actually, wasn't that also the case with normal Sonic in Unleashed?

Sort of.

Sonic's model since Unleashed (in Colours, however, this only applies to his cutscene model), has had two mouths, though one is always invisible. The visible mouth is supposed to switch sides in accordance with camera position.

It's supposed to happen without the player noticing, though if you go out of your way, you can find areas in the game where the mouth keeps switching rapidly, revealing the trick.

In Sonic Lost World on the Wii U, it would seem the Super Sonic animations are just incomplete in general. Thus, we have the constantly visible two mouths that look like a mustache.

Apologies for the bump, but I have some questions that I'm hoping you guys here can answer:

So one of my long term assignments in college is to create a 3D game in UDK (Unreal Development Kit). I wanted to make a small platform-adventure game, and I wrote up some ideas and concepts for it. Though, I'm honestly not sure about whether or not I would go through with it. It seems like something I should leave until I'm more experienced.

However, I was planning to use elements from Sonic GDK. And at the end of the class, the tutor said it's OK to make games based off of existing IPs for the project (essentially, a fan game). So I thought "...why don't I make a 3D Sonic fan game"?

Now, keep in mind this hasn't started yet. And I'm obviously only starting with UDK (though I find it easy to use so far, I think I could make nice enough looking environments already). But Sonic GDK is an excellent template for making a Sonic fan game (Sonic GDK is not a fan game, for those who aren't aware - it's a UDK package for making Sonic fan games).

I thought it would be good to ask you guys if there are any particular things you would like to see in a Sonic fan game. I'm not saying I'm going to make anything amazing, or particularly long. In fact, I most definitely won't. However, I would like to try make something that is at least a bit of fun, and looks nice. I'm really excited about this idea, and would love to hear from you guys about stuff I could do, such as level ideas, or what kind of gameplay style you would like (Classic, Adventure, Unleashed, and Colours gameplay styles are all possible in Sonic GDK. And of course, I could do something more unique if possible).

So if you guys have any ideas at all, no matter how confident you are in them, let me know either in this topic, or via PM. It love to hear your ideas!

---------------------

Also, the Elgato I ordered for my friend arrived today, and I tested it out. It works a charm. So, I was thinking on doing a playthrough of Sonic Lost World (Wii U), with commentary. Would you guys like to see that? And if ye would, is there anything in the game you would like to see me record and commentate besides the main story?

My commentary would aim for a balance between being informative and providing some fresh thoughts on the game, as well as just having a bit of fun and saying the odd silly thing!

You got Elgato? Awesome. I would like to watch your Sonic Lost World Let's Play.
Sonic fan game? I am glad you want to make one. First I would like to know is it possible to mix gameplay styles in Sonic GDK (for example with Classic formula yet some Modern elements as well). If answer is yes, then I would like to see a Sonic fan game with Classic formula mostly, yet some 3D parts too. Sonic model should be...whatever Sonic you want (if it's Modern, Roger's voice should do effects Sonic makes while jumping, if Classic, than mute) Riding board should also be on some part of the level, since it is small fan game, why not add Super Sonic transformation possible when you collect 50 or more rings, I would like to see some zone that is similar to chemical plant zone.

Yes, this is totally possible! In fact, by default, Sonic GDK has Classic Sonic physics, and the Spin Dash, but also has pretty much all of the Modern moves (except the Drift, but it's not exactly needed, as turning is brilliant in this anyway).
If answer is yes, then I would like to see a Sonic fan game with Classic formula mostly, yet some 3D parts too. Sonic model should be...whatever Sonic you want (if it's Modern, Roger's voice should do effects Sonic makes while jumping, if Classic, than mute)
If I give Sonic a voice (even if it's just grunts), I actually want to do the voice overs myself. Not because I think I'm amazing at voicing Sonic (though I suppose I could do it with practice), but I don't want to copy official games TOO much.
I also want to try making my own Sonic model, if it's possible for me. Though I will likely use the Sonic Colours model if I can't.
Riding board should also be on some part of the level
See, that's a neat idea I would not of thought of myself!
I don't know how possible this is, but I reckon it can't be too hard. It just means I'd have to keep the default vehicle system from UDK intact.
why not add Super Sonic transformation possible when you collect 50 or more rings
This will most definitely be in the game I make, as it's one of the pre-made features of GDK. It would not be difficult to implement at all.
In fact, in the most recent revision of Sonic GDK, which just came out, they added Hyper Sonic!
And Blue Sphere Special Stages can also be implemented, which I look forward to playing around with. I want to try add some new twists to it.
I would like to see some zone that is similar to chemical plant zone.
I was already considering this, so rest assured, I'll see what I can do!

It's not really a bump if you post after 1 day when nobody else posted. It's more like double posting.
