Mr Dark is referenced only twice in the game – first when the Bubble Dreamer addresses Dark Rayman, and then again when we see his name on the Magician’s poster. I noticed that the manual seems to contain an updated version of the information on the official site – all mention of Soldiers, piranhas and Mr Dark has been removed. Between this, the script and the posters, I’m almost completely convinced that the Magician is an admirer of Mr Dark, and not Mr Dark himself.]
Must...resist...FANFICTION!!!!
I seriously planned do some fanfic/art based on these facts, and I'm that type that never actually writes fanfiction.
I got the last Skull Tooth today, and I tried to test the Land of the Livid Dead just for practise even though I don't have all Electoons yet. Man it was a challenge...I decided to leave it for the weekend as I still have some schoolwork to do before it. Otherwise I'm doing pretty well on my game, I am missing only some time trial trophies and lum medals

Congrats! I think the Lucious Lakes treasure was really the hardest one.

I have something to say: I've beaten Rayman Origins today, 100%! Got the Platinum Trophy in PSN, I have got every Electoon, Skull Tooth, Time Trial Trophies and Lum Medals. *Relief sigh* I can already rest

!
I still need to read the discussions I've missed since the second half of October, same for RayWiki. But I can already say something:
[
Since I saw the Magician in the E3 gameplay videos (when a level was finished) I got confused since he did look similar to Mr. Dark (who appeared in the E3 2011 Trailer for a brief moment). I even started to suspect that both were the same person, but if I think better now, it is not quite clear. Because I think Mr. Dark is only mentioned twice: when you use Dark Rayman's skin and pull the Bubble Dreamer's beard, he talks about Mr. Dark; when you see The Reveal cutscene, where I noticed some posters saying Mr. Dark. Also, as far as I'm aware Mr. Dark can fly alone, not with the help of a Jet Pack/Helicopter-bag. There was nothing in the game that directly confirmed both the Magician and Mr. Dark being the same person, although the website talks about him I think the information is outdated, because I've played the whole game and I didn't see any Soldiers. It is a pity, but Ancel also said that Mr. Dark would only appear as a cameo. I wonder if he was talking about the brief moments where the character was mentioned, or the poster itself.]

That’s pretty much the same conclusion I’ve reached. I think I even remember some articles from earlier in the year stating that Mr Dark would not directly appear in the game, but that his story would be told, or something to that effect.

At least I finally have beaten the game. It was excellent. I found the game a worth wait, although I had to wait my whole teenagehood for this.

I personally think the game is too easy and short, but I enjoyed it till the last bit.For me the hardest skull teeth was the Moody Clouds one...
I've also reached that same conslusion

I hope we get a new Rayman game soon although I don't think so given the low sales RO is getting...

Some new (to me at least, you folks might already know) info about the Vita version of RO was revealed by the guys from Destructoid:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xpFBApyDatI&feature=g-u (towards the end of the video).
The most noteworthy bit for me is the feature that will allow players to race against the ghosts of their friends (if I understood that correctly, I watched the video in a hurry).
EDIT:
Here's a screenshot of the Ghost-mode map screen:

Ok, haruka completed the game, I'm not using invisible text anymore
Hmm, yep, I have to agree with Haruka and Spiraldoor, and I have a theory:
They scrapped the "Mr Dark's fan" concept because it was too deep for non-rayman fans and kids of the new generation. Think about the dialogues with the magician saying "I always wanted to be like mr dark", kids and non-rayman fans will be like "Who the f*ck is mr dark? I haven't seen him in the game" so, in order to avoid messing up everything, ubisoft just shares an easy concept with us: "the good guy with the top hat betrays everyone. Period.". The star that the Magician pulls out also may symbolize the fact of being "good". With the star, The magician looks like a friendly...uh...magician. But without it, he looks like a stereotypical villain with a top hat, that's what anyone without basic knowledge about rayman's franchise would think.
Possibly, Ubisoft played correctly it's cards, and in order to explain to the REAL fans what's going on, they put the whole information about mr dark on the internet, so people dedicated to investigate would find out... or in fact... they possibly wanted us to read the script!

....Ooor possibly not, and they were just too lazy to explain a shit.

One of the features I like about the Vita version is the fact that you can zoom in. If I do get that handheld, I'm pretty sure I'd spend a lot of time with a zoomed in picture. I also remember seeing a video where some dude simply touched the screen to pop the bubbles with lums. That's pretty nifty too.

O____o
Cop out.
They could have pulled the Mr. Dark admiration thing off easy with like... 'flashbacks' of the first game done in the Rayman Origins style or something.

I doubt that they intended for us to read the script and find out that way; there are much more direct methods of revealing information outside the game, like manuals, sites and interviews. They probably thought that writing ‘♥ Mister D’ on the wall would be enough to clue us in, and in a way that’s true; I worked out that the Magician had been taking Rayman’s Lums and using them to power his machines just by looking at this image:
It’s fairly clear what’s going on with the Magician and Mr Dark if you look at all the facts, but the storytelling really should have been better.

Then we can say that Rayman Junior and English with rayman are part of the chronology, right?

They suggest the Valley is on Earth. That's enough for me.

Rayman Junior? Sure, if you like. But I’d question the sanity of anyone who regards English with Rayman to be a valid entry in the series.
Yeah, that’s the World Trade Centre, right there in the valley. How are you going to reconcile 9/11 with the Rayman continuity? Did the Robo-Pirates take down the twin towers by flying a couple of Warships into them?

Oh, my mistake. It was only English with Rayman that made the mistake, not Rayman Junior. I apologize.

According to the rabbids games, the Glade of Dreams has a close connection with Earth. How? I don't know. Also, that would make the rabbids games chronological, and they possibly left the Glade of Dreams because they got bored and then went to the human world.

Apart from a couple of Easter eggs referencing the Eiffel Tower, no real Rayman game has ever suggested a connection between the Glade of Dreams and Earth, so as far as I’m concerned, no such connection exists. I doubt the original developers would ever use such a ridiculous idea anyway.

hmm alright. Anyway I wasn't talking about the environment, but the fact that both the Magician and Mr Dark can be seen in the same place at the same time.

Rayman Revolution - ending dialogue of the Prison Ship, Rayman calls his home planet Earth. I don't know if that was created by the original developers though.

This may be wrong, but by earth he could've meant ground.
