I got harassed by SpongeBob haters at one point back then for complimenting another SB fan's avatar. I am dead serious.

With Steven Universe and Uncle Grandpa it's different because I gave both shows a chance; I think I was watching SU first and wasn't watching UG until I was on vacation and watching it on CN then - and I liked them. The way SU fans are treating not only UG fans but also actual SU staff without a lick of respect over this crossover is what's making me sick right now - trying to dig out everything to possibly hate about UG and making the SU staff explain it (it was over crossdressing btw, which is VERY common in cartoons old and new).

I don't think I'll fit into the SU fandom anytime soon just because I'm also an UG fan, basically.

the thing most people are complaining about is that it was offensive bc this or offensive bc that but privately i don't get it myself? the only thing i could possibly see was the incest joke garnet made and even then? while it was ooc for garnet it wasn't exactly awful? i mean i found it p funny but idk i can't speak for other people

the other thing people are complaining about is ug in a dress at the beginning because transmisogyny apparently but idt the joke was ug in a dress? so much as OH IT'S ROSE CLIMACTIC BUILDUP suddenly uncle grandpa. idk. the joke would have been the same if rose was a dude. also apparently something was offensive to autistic people and autistic people should TOTALLY BE OFFENDED but if someone could clue me in to what exactly please let me know because i am fucking stumped myself

the thing about tumblr is they way oversteered with the sj thing and ended up taking everything they could far too seriously and the fact most of the SU fandom is 13 really doesn't help X: i was trying to get into the fandom and meet more people but now? tbh i'm a bit put off. i have never seen a fandom whine so much since rayman origins happened.

the whole episode was supposed to be a parody of bad crossover fanfiction? hence ug being related to steven and pearl being ooc as fuck and the whole ship/fandom joke thing? so yknow if you didn't like it cool i just didn't personally find it offensive (i'm finding the fandom rn MORE offensive than the ep ever was)

This is why I hate fandoms. They ruin everything.

Anyways, I watched the latest MLP:FiM episode just for the hell of it. It was pretty good.

on the note of cartoons I really, REALLY loved Invader Zim. Sure, Gir was a bit of an annoying character at times but the show was so over the top ridiculous and gloomy that it was hilarious imo. It's very easy to see why the show got cancelled. I just loved the style of the show and everything personally, should totally rewatch the series. I do think Gir was a very overrated character, of course everyone liked him for his over the top "Cuteness" but Zim was probably my favorite, it was just stupid, goofball, and comedic behavior.

Yeah the show is quite unfortunately loved by the depths of tumblr... but ignoring the awful fanbase, it was an excellent show.

I loved Invader Zim! It has to be one of my favorite childhood shows. I love the art style and the humor.

Same. I just loved the real dark style of it. I think it wasn't all over the top and flashy like a lot of cartoons that try to be dark are today. Therefore, it's very easy to see why the show ended up being cancelled. Really sad for me.

Well, I was feeling like doing some reminiscing, so I decided to look back at the TMNT cartoon I grew up with, the 2003 one. I forgot how much I loved its incarnation of the Shredder. He even had a really awesome leitmotif:

It's been several weeks since the latest Gravity Falls. If only there were more cartoons out there...

I would also mention Steven Universe. It comes right after Gravity Falls in my current favorite cartoons.
(although I should check on Bojack Horse, Gumball, and Star vs the Forces of Evil)

Hmm, I do admit, I haven't been finding myself really engaged with AT of late, I wonder if it's beginning to reach its twilight days.

I watch TMNT now and then, but I don't find every episode to be engrossing, so I only tend to go through the ones which hold my attention.

The new TMNT theme song is so good! Knocks the original right out.

So...I hear Gravity Falls will be back July.

Summer 2015. I really hope its June though. I don't see why Disney waits so long in between episodes.

It seems like a common thing with cartoons, I know Steven Universe and Regular Show are also on breaks. Adventure Time and TMNT just came out of one.

I'm rewatching the original Teen Titans to keep myself occupied for the Steven Universe and Gravity Falls hiatus. Tell me I'm not the only one who is disappointed greatly by Teen Titans Go.
