< already directed him to Wikipedia, and has tried to explain it here too.

Seeing as ^^ is up at midday, < hopes ^^ slept well.

< has been looking around for a budget replacement mouse, < was looking at this. It's a bit flashy for <'s taste, but it's also functional, from what < can gather.

Hmm, it's been a long time since < bought a mouse, but < never thought the choice would be so tyrannical. < guesses < is used to ones that just come with computers/kits.
An "Intellimouse" just has two buttons and a wheel, right?

<'s intellimouse has a total of 5 buttons, left click, right click, wheel click, and two buttons on either side, like so:

Oh right then, < has never used a mouse with that many buttons. < wonders if ^ uses the side ones often.

Not as often as the main lot, but enough for < to miss them.

< sees. Well then, ^ may have to resort to a flashy-but-functional replacement.

< has a bad experience with microsoft mice. < has a simple 20 € Logitech mouse, < has dropped it like a million times , but it still works like a charm!
Once < dropped it down the stairs...

Funny, <'s experience with MS Mice has been pretty pleasant, < thinks they're one of the best mice < has used.

< can't really fault MS on their mice, < used a three-button Intellimouse for years and found it very comfortable. Of course <'s hands were smaller back then.

<'s hands aren't getting any bigger now, and < is still finding them to be pretty comfortable. < wouldn't have bothered with a replacement, but since it's on its last legs, < doesn't have much choice.

Lol this is <'s mouse:

P.S.
< understands the PS/2 thingy but < doesn't get WHY they had to call it PS/2 It's confusing at first look :confus:

Then < hopes Fifo's link cleared it up. < points out that the IBM PS/2 has been around a lot longer than the Sony PS2, so it's actually Sony's fault that it's confusing.

Oh, was it the PS/2 name that was confusing? < thought the confusion stemmed from it having a USB instead of PS/2 port.

The Microsoft mice <'s used all had a really hard touch to it. You'd get pain in your fingers after using it all day, because you had to click the buttons so hard.
