- At the end of a vacation day I like to recover some from spending the entire day in the company of my family, but my mother seems to have made it her goal to say every single thing that comes to her mind and call me rude if I don't respond

+ I spent the day out in the Arcata town square where a 4th of July festival was going on.
+ Tried some homemade apple crisp while at the festival. Basically baked apples with cinnamon and a granola crust. Good stuff.

- Had a couple of bits of bad news today, nothing too major.

- The shade that goes over the lightbulb in my bedroom fell down and smashed onto my boyfriend's laptop, conking out a few keys on the keyboard so while it's still usable he has to use the onscreen keyboard for time being. It was lucky it didn't hit his head otherwise there'd be chaos.
+ had to go out for a meal at a Turkish restaurant and most of it was damn yummy.
- Their coffee machine was broken so no Turkish coffee for me, though I got to try Turkish tea.
+ got some new shoes (go walks) and they are crazy comfy!

+ I went out and did many things in town today. Saw a farmer's market, grabbed some wholesome ice cream, and went to a farm where they let us take home a bunch of fresh strawberries from the fields.
- I'm feeling a little bit tired and the day isn't quite done yet. We still have to have an early dinner.
+ But we're also going to see an outdoor show later.

- While playing my Absolution LP, I noticed that my grandpa's turntable sounded muddy and basically like shit, so me and him took it out to clean the thing, and my grandpa accidentally pushed in the needle, which broke off when we tried to straighten it out.
