WOW.

I remember installing NFS Underground from an original CD once, and when I put in the CD key and hit Next in the installer, my optical drive made a rather disturbing (stomach-churning, even!) noise. It scared me as I wasn’t expecting it at all!

It's not good if it sounds like a floppy drive. The Dreamcast is loud, but that's just taking the piss.

tfw you won't even have an optical drive anymore soon, unless you use a second computer, or else use an external drive.

I'll have to check which vendor made it. It's not that old, and it includes BluRay capability (not that anyone really cares about that ).

It can't be as bad as one of my PS2s, where I put a scratched copy of Ratchet & Clank 2 into it, then the laser was jumping since you could hear the worm motor going. Next of all, the blue eject LED went out, and when I pressed reset, the console didn't even boot anymore.
