How is R2's music simplistic? It's got so many different layers you can't even name some of the instruments playing at some times. Also, he uses what seems to be an entire orchestra of instruments to fill in the parts they do. Also, some of the melodies are quite complex.
No he doesn't. Most of the time not many instruments are playing at all, and even on the busy tracks there are no more than three to five instruments which are all clearly distinguishable and nameable. This kind of simplicity is rather one of my favourite kinds of music, so hurray.

I was under the impression that the game’s entire soundtrack was synthesised.
It was synthesised. If you listen in, the exact same notes and velocities are used in many of the N64 tracks.

Isn’t it possible that Chevalier recorded the sounds with real instruments and then mixed them to create the music? The N64 soundtrack was based on the CD version, not the other way round, so the identical notes aren’t necessarily a cause for suspicion.

That's what I meant - the N64 version has most of the same notes and velocities as the CD version, so he would have referred back to the original project file to export MIDI for the N64, and audio for the CD. I can't say for sure, but that seems fairly likely. Obviously he would have modified the tracks slightly to loop/sound better on the N64, but if I were to guess for the life of me, I would guess this.
I don't think he used real instruments, except perhaps in a few places such as the guitar parts (only some, not all) and other places where MIDI would fall short.

I do not think that smiley means what you think it means.
It does.I'm proud of R2's soundtrack. And too I love that smiley, but I never get to use it.
They should definitely get RayFan to make this game, she would make the bestest game ever.

I don't think you understand what the word 'proud' means either. You're basically saying you take pride in the creation of Rayman 2's soundtrack, which technically either would make you arrogant or someone who doesn't make an ounce of sense.

Lolol, wouldn't that just be an opportunity of a lifetime.

New pictures of BG&E2 were posted recently, I'm glad to know the game will really have a sequel. I should finish the first one...

Because all she posts is spam.I'm sick of seeing this thread has new replies, coming here hoping for news and speculations and get spam and off-topic.
Actually I hope this game has epic music like Rayman 2.Anyway I guess next time I'll say a Rayman game is epic will be when they go back to 3D,besides RotD.

Maybe they could try going for a hybrid? Allowing the Origins musical style (Seeing as it is an Origins sequel) and the mystical and magical chimes and such from R2 to walk hand in hand? If they could get something like that right, it'd be amazing.

Not to mention utter disregard of the simplest of rules which even an ungrammatically correct prick could appreciate.
And it's true, that attempt to suck up to Bingham had absolutely no place here whatsoever, if she had any brains she would've at least posted it in the RotD topic.
Oh God, I should probably stop here before I get into a state and start ranting.

That’s easy. Just ask Héral to compose an entire soundtrack like this:

Even though I said he used instruments and an ochestra, I meant synthesised ones. I already discovered the music was made with synthesizers a while back when we had a similar discussion about Chevalier's music. However, using the full array of such synthesizers with such a quality they would seem almost real instruments, aptly prompts for the word 'orchestra' in my opinion.
RayFan, can you point out which instruments Eric's using in the track of The Precipice named 'The Great Escape' on RayTunes? I can say there's some violins, a glockenspiel, some other instruments, a double bass, etc., but what you can clearly hear is that there's multiple types of instruments playing the same melody at the same time, making it very hard to pinpoint exactly what array of instruments is playing. (OK, I'll admit that if I put some effort into it, I can probably distinguish each instrument individually, but it's not something I would call simplistic. Perhaps we just have two different interpretations of the word. However, I'm curious whether or not you'd call Origins' music simplistic, since it's also only say 5 instruments playing at one time in there, while the music itself is a lot more frantic.)

Yes, I always thought that track fit right with Rayman 2. I also really think it fit with the atmosphere of the level. I liked it's (both the level and the song) very pretty and slightly eerie theme and how the firefly like glowing fish follow Rayman to protect him from the creatures in the depths of the abyss. It's also pretty hard the first time round (and if your brother is playing along side you haphazardly ).
Thanks for reminding me, now I want to play the game again! Oh well, I have it on PC now, so I should be able to appreciate the graphics even more...

Because gamegirl is fucking retarded. On-topic: Eeek! Two weeks for E3 I want Legends to be EPIC!! BTW, Now that the Glade stopped being Cloud Cuckooland and became a medieval world, I think neither the chipmunk voices, nor the kazoo, nor the hilbilly jew harp would be required this time for the soundtrack. Music should be more enthusiastic, dark and Raymanish this time

I'm sorry for asking (actually I'm not), but Sir Gio, have you been playing Banjo Kazooie lately?
