Re: The You Game!
< doesn't care how much the English language evolves, < will never stop using "whom" because it makes < sound like a cool old man. OK, not really, but still...
< has come across a phenomenon twice now in <'s life and < can't find any name for it or any other instances...
Basically imagine this:
My brother, Isaac, eats some sugar from the tin and is caught. My mum says not to. Again he eats some sugar and is caught, and is told off again. My other brother, Gabriel, eats some sugar from the tin and isn't caught. My mum finds out that there's some sugar missing, and since she knows that Isaac has already stolen sugar in the past, she jumps to the conclusion that he's eaten the sugar...
Now every time Gabriel steals sugar, my mum thinks "oh, that's 3 times Isaac's stolen sugar, it must be him again" and then "oh, that's 4 times, it must be him" and eventually "that's 10 times, it must be him again" even though in reality he's only stolen sugar twice and it was Gabriel who had stolen it the other 8 times.
My mum's idea that Isaac steals sugar is consolidated and it makes her exponentially certain that he's the one stealing the sugar even if he isn't actually the one stealing it...
< also had this phenomenon happen to < when < forgot to flush the toilet a few times and then when anybody for got to flush, everyone'd think I had done it and the notion that I was the one who never flushed the toilet would grow stronger each time it happened. This was years ago, but < just remembered it recently because the same phenomenon happened to me recently, but on a much smaller scale.
Does this have a name? It should have anyway. 'Exponential Mental Consolidation' or something.

Re: The You Game!
< is referring to the way in which the word "troll" came to be used by the media to refer to cyberbullies in general, rather than the very specific meaning it traditionally had from forums/newsgroups.

Well we won't lose our word. We'll use it as much as we always have, we'll fight the media, we'll win! We just have to believe...
