Although Rulez has already answered, I'll try anyways.

At the beginning of the Top of the World, the camera takes the perspective of the Gorilla Pirate.
During one of the 'intermission cutscenes' in Rayman 2, when the Spyglass Pirate gets tripped up by a Henchman when he's walking into Razorbeard's room.

These situations are both literal first-person perspectives, no crosshairs involved.

Anyway, I was asking for camera change in gameplay, but seeing as I didn't word it correctly, it wouldn't be fair to have Rulez miss out.

Real-life: It was named after a technique used to make the Rayman 1 game: Raytracing.

In-game: I believe it was because of the Moonbeams, or because he was brought from the light.

Indeed, Raytracing is to the thank for the name of the limbless wonder, though to him, it's due to him being woven from meanbeam rays and stuff.
