So, I told you guys I'd get back to you to report on my friend's mental condition after playing the Land of the Livid Dead and... well...
there isn't any. There's no condition to be had. There is none because his brain has melted completely and dribbled all over my floor, to the point where my cat started eating it. Now her brain is dribbling over the floor.
It actually took us together a surprising amount of time less to complete than it did me by myself. I guess that's because you can act as each other's safety catch - should one die, there's always the other. Plus there's that immunity thing you seem to have right after you spawn, something my friend and me can make pretty good use of to skip some hazardous situations elsewhere.
For the rest, he loved the Land, he loved the music, he loved the epic skills required to best it and he loved wacking that crazy pink overlady's eyes out. In his words: "Delicious."

...HOLY SHIT. Land of the livid dead isn't THAT hard. Your acting as if your playing I wanna be the guy on hard mode XD.
You will die a shit ton but the game has infinite lives so just keep going at it, if you suck at remembering what buttons to press then you wont do too good because land of the livid dead is mostly about timing and skill.

Hmm, yes. The LOTLD was quite hard for me to complete on my own. I kept dying at certain places and when I finally got passed them, there would be another thing around the corner to sneak up on me. Bear in mind it was 1:30 AM. Anyway, I did get the timing right eventually and now that I have done it twice now, I could do it far more easily. But that doesn't dispute that it's hard - it only tells you I got good at perfecting that hard level. So yes, I will call it hard. But I also call it epic and fun.

THats a much better way of describing it, it really was a thriller.
The part that I loved the most was the 2nd area where you had to ride that worm at fast speed.

^ this

The worm part is epic because:
1. The music
2. The super fast moving character looks cool when he's beating the shit out of the grannies
3. After yhat there is a chainsaw bone party or something!

For fuck's sake, I died about ten minutes into Big Mama's credits sequence. How is that even possible? Now to play through them all over.

These long credits are being a complete

I noticed a significant increase in difficulty once in the Moody Clouds, getting the time trials is going to be a pain.

Luckily there's only three levels. On Top of Old Smokey took me 43 tries to beat the time trial, and I bested the trophy in the end by almost 20 seconds.

Also, the Land of the Livid Dead I didn't find so hard at all. Easier than Moody Clouds, other than that one part where you're riding the flying spine. That was a nightmare.

You can't navigate the pause menu in Dolphin.

I think the real difficulty is getting Lum Medals alone in the mosquito levels, it was a pain for me. It was until my arm was hurting.

Time Trials weren't hard at all for me, it was more a matter of reminding the obstacles over the places.

Well the Moskito level in the Moody Clouds was pretty hard to finish alone but the others were rather manageable. I just had trouble with the one in the Ticklish Temples... until I figured out those plants on the walls yielded lums.
