Laser printers are more for office environments, mind you, < would imagine that their cartridges would have to last longer as a consequence.

Inkjet uses ink cartridges, laser uses toner cartridges, if < remembers correctly. Googlgle seems to validate that too.
Unless you're printing a LOT - like, school/office levels of 'a lot' - there's no need to get a laser printer.
