tfw trying to get up earlier always makes you end up needing to nap.

tfw you spend your week off playing FPS games on Hard, and wind up just as drained as after a week's work, if not more so

I just tend to think low of myself and think that everything I do becomes a failure.

You shouldn't, you're a smart person. Not everyone can do the things you do, even changing a laser in a PS1 for example.

I guess that’s true.

I’ll admit that I can’t do some things that others can, though.

I realized a long time ago that I find it much more pleasant to play video games in casual fashion as opposed to, well, trying hard, so I guess I understand you well!

I've noticed that games are long and very difficult these days, sometimes I can't even hold an interest for long enough to finish them.

I'm actually under the impression that games are getting easier, and a lot less frustrating than before, unless you meant finishing them 100% of course.

I spent half of the week on Black Mesa, which the devs admit here is probably "a bit harder than most games released today" (since it's a remake of a >20-year-old one!), which would agree more with what Humch is saying I guess. (Not too sure myself, I haven't bought a new game in some time.) I love how they say "no one worth listening to will judge you" for lowering the difficulty! I never felt the need to do so while playing though (especially since I'd beat it before), it was only afterwards that the tension caught up with me!
For me, I believe the solution is really to plan my holidays better, not to lower the difficulty setting.
