In the Dreamcast version, there are bats in the Cave of Bad Dreams (at the beginning if I remember correctly).
And during the fight against Jano, Rayman can use a flat stone to cross the first chasm.

I believe in the normal versions of the game the level continues as a transition from the previous. However in the GBA version the level starts at the second stage and the transition is avoided completely?

The cage in the first level of the GBA version is not protected from bluestones in the directory when rayman comes from the front way.
