Did not play RR sadly, but the wording of yours seem to hint at shooting with one hand busy, i.e. while linked with Purple Lum. Probably wrong though, huh?

None of you are correct. I'm going to admit that I thought this would be an easy question for people .

I'm going to give a hint: Torches/Ropes.

In addition to using both his hands to shoot - doubling the rate of fire - Rayman can now shoot stuff (e.g. torches) while he's hanging on ropes/nets!

I haven't really played RR... I've downloaded it and set up a PS2 emulator but my laptop is too slow... so I never made it past the first level.

He can light torches?

Thank you, Master! The Rate of Fire doesn't exclusively speeds up the sphere throwing, but it also allows Rayman to light up torches and ropes by throwing a sphere that triggers fire.
