A big part of this is probably nostalgia, but still, this is one of the main problems with video games today. You just don't get the same magical feel as in the PS2, PS1, N64 and SNES area.
I am glad you understand. I guess it's just a combination of the old nostalgic era and the fact that I was a little young boy without any worries. It was truely magic days.

Knowing that this one was scrapped makes me sad, because it's an amazing song! it's actually the happiest one (and the catchiest one) from the Infernal Kitchen soundtrack, and if you listen carefully, you can hear the original Rayman Origins theme (the one from the first trailer).
I swear that's still in the game
EDIT: Yes, yes it is:

No need to worry about it's scrapped nature anymore

I've played the entire game, and beat it at 100%, the song was scrapped, sorry

I was pretty sure it's in the game as well. Besides, they wouldn't scrap a song they have in the game's files.
But you may be right. I haven't heard it in the game before myself (which is why it's the last non-moskito music in Gourmand Land in the RayTunes soundtrack).

Oh... Just beat all Rayman Origins, and Land of The Livid Dead too. Reaction on last levels - omg, wtf how I must beat it?!
It's masterpiece equally with Rayman 2. But I'm so sad that game have'nt normal story, like Rayman 2 and 3...

If it had the worked out story, it may be best game of the Rayman series. But intrigue of finale is good! I was really surprised.
Oh... I'm very don't like that they're scrapped tetris level!
That's all. Now I will try to get Platinum trophy while playing other games.

Funny how stuff that gets scrapped is really interesting.

After playing Rayman Origins, I've found the graphics and soundtrack to be quite beautiful. I've not beaten it yet, but I do feel great that we finally got a real Rayman game released.

What are you ranking Rayman Origins?
My rank is 9/10, because brilliant gameplay, graphics, music, but not enough story

I would give it an 8.5/10. The gameplay, music and graphics are brilliant, though story makes up a big part of a game for me, and this game has none of it.

I gave a Platinum Star, but to be honest the real percentage I gave was 95%.

I tend to like games with light stories, or a simple cut-scenes that don't detract from game-play. Unless they are done really well, games that are too tied down with a plot line I find can be really detracting and annoying (particularly if the plot is badly written or filled with the worst cliches, which is usually the case with video game writing). This is probably one of the reasons why I don't get along with RPGs
The lack of story line in Origins, therefore, isn't too much of a problem with me, although I do think it is weird that they removed a large chunk of the script from the game, making a lot of the things that happen very unclear from just playing the game.
Plus, I'm still annoyed that they cut poor Tarayzan...

I'll be brutally honest and give this game a 6.5/10. The visuals are nice but they're supposed to bring an atmosphere to the game, which they fail to do. The music simply isn't memorable enough for me - none of the themes really get stuck in my head like they did in Rayman 2 and Rayman 3, the Mario games, the Banjo series, the Final Fantasy series, etc. One way to describe this game's music is "emotionless". The soundtrack has too much mindless drumming and too little emotion (a good example is "Chasing a Dream" from the Land of the Livid Dead). The game is lacking in the story department which makes it hard for me to care about any of the characters and feel like I'm really in the game.
The platforming is a challenge though, so it's a fair effort that deserves a 6.5.

I admit one of the things it disappoint me most in RO was the lack of story-telling. I was also expecting more GoD trivia but it didn't happen. It was a lost opportunity.

I'm glad a release date has been given for the 3DS version. I wonder if they'll throw in new characters at us to make it all "exclusive" and what not. Either way, I hope the demo comes soon!

Yeah, like Tarayzan

! Nah, they probably won't, and even if they did I wouldn't be able to play due to my lack of 3DS

. Although if they did do it, it would show that they still care for the little guy
Also, two posts by me about Tarayzan on the same day, on the same thread. Sorry about that

I agree with all of this. Not to the extreme you put it, but near. I would move my rating to more of an 8.25/10.

Hey, I'm sure I've done way worse before.

I'm also sad that they cut out Tarayzan.

I do wonder if any of the scrapped skins and the like are hidden deep in some of the files of the game. I doubt it, they probably never got passed the script, but it would still be interesting....
I really wonder why they were cut. Some of them, like Uglette, would have taken about 2 minutes (probably exaggerating a slight bit

) to put in - just recolour Globox pink and add a bow
