The music simply isn't memorable enough for me - none of the themes really get stuck in my head like they did in Rayman 2 and Rayman 3, the Mario games, the Banjo series, the Final Fantasy series, etc. One way to describe this game's music is "emotionless". The soundtrack has too much mindless drumming and too little emotion (a good example is "Chasing a Dream" from the Land of the Livid Dead). The game is lacking in the story department which makes it hard for me to care about any of the characters and feel like I'm really in the game.
The platforming is a challenge though, so it's a fair effort that deserves a 6.5. :)
I agree with all of this. Not to the extreme you put it, but near. I would move my rating to more of an 8.25/10.
Well, I have to say my rating is just based on how I feel toward it. 6.5 is already a good rating if I judge based on how I feel. Under 5 isn't good, above 5 is okay. 6 is good, and above 8 it's a masterpiece. Rayman Origins gets a 6.5 on that scale.
If I'd compare to other games though (the basis that many reviewers use) I'd say 8.25 too. ;)

I really wonder why they were cut. Some of them, like Uglette, would have taken about 2 minutes (probably exaggerating a slight bit ;)) to put in - just recolour Globox pink and add a bow :P
I can sort of see why they cut Tarayzan though. It would be odd to have a character of Rayman's kind from Rayman 1 in the game (And possibly have him as Rayman's cousin), rather than just variations of Rayman himself, since Rayman is supposedly the only one of his kind and he can't be unique unless he's the only member of his species.

But I don't see why they scrapped Uglette. :|

I would have given this game a 10/10...but come on, the first trailer looks much better than the game itself, I'm pissed that they cut the Propeller ability and changed it with that..stupid ability to shrink :mefiant: ............................oh, damn it, 9.5/10  for a 2d platformer, this is an excelent game, come on!

p.d: there are many scrapped elements in droolie's files, such as the orange fat dragon and the jalapeño king (i think i said that before). It is possible that Tarrayzan is still hiding...somewhere.

Aka, the stupidest excuse ever - and I know you agree on this one :P

Also, I'm beginning to doubt myself about my belief that that scrapped Infernal Kitchen song being in the game - I swear I could have heard it somewhere, but I'm having trouble finding a level which backs up this claim :oops2:. It's a shame - I like it a lot!

Today I took part of my day trying to find that song in every single Infernal Kitchen level (Gourmand Land and Luscious Lakes, including Moskito sequences). The song was scrapped :| Oh, and I checked the rest of the soundtrack, there are many scrapped songs there :mryellow: Remember? Wuigi told us that the soundtrack would include scrapped songs (that's why droolie's soundtrack is much better... and kind of legal)

Maybe they decided Tarayzan wasn't really one of Rayman's kind at all, much like the Magician.
Or Rayman's species isn't really a species. (Someone said something like that but I don't remember exactly.)
Or maybe they wanted to kill him off...

And maybe they killed off Uglette too? It'd explain why she wasn't in Rayman 3 either.

I'd honestly rather Tarayzan be dead or nonexistant that be turned into a different species. XP

Hi guys, (another new guy)

Sorry if this has already been posted but has anybody noticed that in the PS Vita version of Origins the SCRAPPED PHOTOGRAPHER appears!
In this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7jDeBkCuwow

the photographer appears at 4:46 and a special bubble that cycles through powerups until popped appears at 6:21

Again sorry if this information has already been discovered, but i've read through all posts in the topic and i think this is new.

It would have made more sense to give everyone limbs much like they did with the Lividstones. Rayman may be the only LIMBLESS version of his species, where other beings of his species have limbs. I'd prefer that to this whole "lets make everything that was a rayperson a teensie" thing :/

I feel like a broken record

So the Rayman facebook page which I used to be owner of before UbiSoft stole it away from me :(, posted a short message saying:

"I'm hearing good news for some of you should arrive later this week... Stay tuned!"

I'm guessing it's going to be about the 3DS demo?

Finally. I still think that selling RO at the same time with SM3DL, Skyrim, MK7 and TLOZ:SS was a mistake.

I agree completely, Ubi seems to have overestimated how weak Rayman's good name has become over time.
Perhaps, now with Origins' looking on the up, the situation might improve, but that's just my own wishful thinking.

I didn't play Origins for almost a month now, so I returned to find my last Electoon and get Glombrox.

So, where is the second cage in Dancing with the Stars? If someone tells me I'll give them 50 Tings.

Thing is Rayman isn't unique anyway, because of Bad/dark Rayman. Pluss seeing how successful Rayman was you would have thought the nymphs would had tried to make more, I mean if one Rayman can successfully send the nightmares to the lower realms, imagine what a whole army of them could do. So maybe they did try to make more, but they were unsuccessfull, creating a primitive minded version that was no where near as powerful as the original, but was extremely talented at agroculture, (something like this could explain Tarayzan's origin without having to make rayman belong to a species, may even be able to explain the cousin thing. Shame he was scrapped. Shame they kept Globox-Rayman instead. And Red Globox instead of Uglette)

The thing with the limbed raymen over teensy thing however would make them look like teensies anyway,(well actually it wouldn't, it would make them look like Razzoff, who people think looks like a teensy.) and now when I play R1 the Magicion looks like a limbless teensy anyway, he is about the same size as one.

Huh...never thought of that. I always assumed he was smaller so he could fit in his hat. And now that brings up another thing, how the heck does Teensie Magician fit in his hat? Does he have two hats or something? The hat you stomp on looks nothing like the hat you see him wearing.
