And if it was, I doubt we'll see any special features there, just a demo of the few early stages.
That didn't stop the demo to appear in the European Xbox 360s and PS3s.

Well, if it comes to Europe, it must be probably around endings of February or beginnings of March.

Silly me Image

BTW, I don't know why are you surprised about two Raymen in the same screen, guys. Remember? you can unlock the ability to play as the same character in multiplayer after beating the Land of the Livid Dead. Now, there's something WEIRD that I noticed in that screenshot: it's just me? or does the second Rayman have a yellow/brown body? (OMGOMGOMGTARRAYZANOMGOMG)...lol no, Tarrayzan doesn't wear shoes.

One of these new features revolves around a brand new collectible throughout the levels: Relics. These will unlock pieces of a large puzzle, a mosaic, that you can view along with the costumes you’ve unlocked in The Snoring Tree and assembling this mosaic will unlock videos that tell the story of Rayman’s roots and the history of the Glade of Dreams.
Damn, it's not fair! :(

Epic!

Now all we need is someone to upload these new cut-scenes to the internetz when the game is released for the entertainment and knowledge of all those without a Vita (which is the majority of everyone, right? :P)

My bf and I were actually told by a Ubisoft UK employee that they were *thinking* about DLC but not much more.

Shame I'm still not sold on the Vita especially since I have my 3DS [a guy at Eurogamer tried to hard sell it with me when I had a go on one and I was playing some shitty snooker game :/] but I dunno, depends on what other games will come out for it.

They can't be serious. What I find "funny" is that in earlier interviews they sweared that the portable consoles' content would be equal to the desktop consoles' content. Yeah, right :pfff:.

Better they do the same in the 3DS version. :pascontent:

Why shouldn’t the developers take this opportunity to improve the game? Nobody is being negatively impacted by this *in any way*. I probably won’t play the handheld versions either, but I can recognise the reality that the game’s quality is much more important than which pieces of hardware I currently happen to own. Do you also think it was wrong to add the Globox Village to the Dreamcast version of Rayman 2 because it could upset the people who didn’t have a Dreamcast twelve years ago? Stop this selfish whining and be glad that we’re getting new Rayman Origins content!

Hold on a second, so the handheld versions are now better than the console versions? Le fuck? I thrive on the idea of Relics explaining Rayman's (vegetable) roots and the history of the Glade and such, but... le fuck?

I'm actually glad they are inserting new content, but selfish whining?

I would obviously like to try out the new content if possible. I've always owned the PC version of Rayman 2 and that didn't stop me to try out the Dreamcast version and see the new content all thanks to an emulator and a lent Dreamcast once.

Yes, anyone who seriously begrudges Vita owners an enhanced experience is just being bitter. Why can’t we all just be glad that the developers are still trying to add new material and make Rayman Origins a better game? It’s obvious that they had to cut a lot of content from the console versions, and I’d be delighted to see it reinstated in some form, even if it’s only on a platform that I don’t currently own. Any future Rayman Origins re-releases will probably include the new content created for the Vita version, and even if they don’t, I’m sure we’ll all be able to get functional Vita emulators a few years down the line. Some people seem unable to step back from their personal financial situation and look at the big picture.

Ah, something to make up for the lack of multiplayer, seems fair enough to me.

We are not selfish, we are the consumers, it's pretty normal to feel like this. Your heartwarming philosophy doesn't help here. We paid like $50 for an "uncomplete" version, while the complete version costs $39.99 and you can play with it anywhere.

Now, when the ubiart crew decided to do this, they made something evil, but at the same time they were complete genius. They totally expect the real fans to buy the handheld version even though they bought the home console version; real fans (really, REALLY obsessed fans with money) would like to see the full features. Add to that the other users, who were waiting for the PSVita version and the 3DS version because they don't have home consoles. Profit.

I wouldn't be surprised if in a pair of months the PC version appeared, featuring 100 levels, more returning characters, some kind of challenge mode, minigames, more cutscenes, online and 30 playable characters.... and Brawl mode (?)

Yes, we all wish that the versions we played had included the relics and unlockable videos. But they didn’t, most likely because the developers were not able to implement the feature in time for the Q4 2011 release. Now that they have an opportunity to expand the game with some new features, it would be very irresponsible not to take advantage of it. Incremental improvements have always been a tradition of the Rayman series, and have led to many weird and wonderful variations between the games. If you think the new features are worth the price of the Vita version, buy it. If you don’t, that’s fine – just do what I do, and watch the videos on YouTube. But please don’t begrudge the existence of the enhanced version; as a fan of the Rayman games, that would be very short-sighted and very foolish.

How does lacking a single gameplay feature make the console versions ‘incomplete’? Collecting Relics is hardly an integral part of the game. I would argue that the Vita version’s total lack of multiplayer makes it much more ‘incomplete’ than any other version, considering the fact that the entire game was developed with the multiplayer experience in mind.

You think this is some sort of elaborate and ‘evil’ plot to take the money of super-hardcore Rayman fans? You do realise how small that market is, right? Perhaps it would be a good idea to ease back on the conspiracy-theory bullshit and consider a much more likely explanation: that the game’s development was rushed, plenty of content was cut to meet the deadline, and the developers are now trying to make it better.

What are you saying here? That you think a really fantastic PC port with boatloads of new content would be a nasty, evil thing?

It’s been quite a while since I’ve had a good argument with you, as you’ve been acting strangely sensible of late. Good to see you back to your old self!
