It's still a number. It seems a lot of series never continue past the 3 in terms of numbered titles. Sonic 1-3, Mario 1-3, Rayman 1-3, Pac-Man World 1-3, etc.
However, I've seen few series cross the 4 mark so it'd be nothing new.

You're true. But I bet Ubisoft won't call the next 3D game "Rayman 4". I expect more something like "Rayman Adventure" or "Rayman: The lums quest", but no number, you see what I mean. It's been too long since the previous episode was out.

I don't know why they put Barbara as an optional character in the game, she should be in the first level or something.
While this isn't really related to Rayman's anniversary. Michel Ancel showd up at Japan expo 2015 where they we showing off Mario maker. He appeared as a video and made a stage for his buddy Miyamoto to play! Isn't that cute? He made a pacman stage (called pac-mario).
While it is not related to Rayman's B-day it does show that he cares about birthdays of characters he cares about. I expect something Rayman related this year.

Very nice to see Ancel and Miyamoto come to contact. I know it isn't the first time as I do recall a photo of Ancel and Miyamoto with few other devs hanging out, but that's pretty neat. Would also be kind of cool if Ancel released his levels online.

I would.. but I think there's something that it's waiting to be announced, they didn't even say that this was for the 20th anniversary, like a little icon with 20th or something like they did with the 10th anniversary compilation.

One thing is for sure, it won't be 3D game since 3D Rayman that started development in 2013 was cancelled due to poor sales of Legends. The best we can hope for now is Rayman in Smash. I doubt they will announce another game.
