He commits suicide. Both you and Umber defeat Umber.

He doesn't commit sucide. It's clear from the fact he's standing in it that lava doesn't harm him.

Not to mention the fact that he comes back every time you revisit the level.

We've already dismissed that theory because there are several holes in it. For starters, why would Umber say exactly the same things multiple times?

And teh same also applies to the Robo-Pirates. After you awaken Polokus he destroys all of teh Robo-Pirates, but when you revisit levels they are still there. It's the same principle.

Well, if you revisit a level, all the cages and lums are gone, and if you free Ly the next time you don't have to free her.

Rayman 2/Revolution only removed the gameplay because it had no scoring system. With R3, everything needs to be exactly how it was, else scores couldn't be improved.

He doesn't say anything after the first time. And neither do Axel and Foutch.

The fact that Ly actually tells him shows that he didn't already know. He would have known if Polokus had destroyed them while Rayman was still on land. Proving that Polokus was destroying the Pirates while Rayman was fighting Razorbeard on top of the Crow's Nest. Thus disproving your so-called "holes" in my theory...which shouldn't really be called a theory, since it's obviously true.

What about after you beat Razorbeard.

That's completely different. The game doesn't even save after you beat him. See, no matter what argument you come up with, I'll disprove it.
