Well, at one point, Rayman 2 was supposed to tie into the cartoon they had back then, but by the time both released there didn't seem to have any connection. This cross marketing sounds very much like something ubisoft would go for.
Even if it would be true, it doesn't have to be a bad thing. Like when the POP movie came out, the new released POP game wasn't so close to the movie....
But anyway, yeah, I don't see any reason to believe in this. But it sounds like it could be enjoyable if it did somehow turn out to be real…
