Anyone else laughed when one of the blurry images was just the Ubisoft logo on a black screen?

I didn't laugh :|

I groaned inwardly, though.

The heavy overdose of Engrish made me lol more. It's like:

HYE GUIZ

IM 18 AND I WEKF FOR UBISOTF
DON TELLEM I LAKED RAYMANG 4 LOL

As far as I know you need at least an Honours degree in Music to work on the sound design in any top end software team. This is 2009, not 1990.

LOL, yeah.

Okay everyone, there could be hope.
This page is quite interesting. Ubisoft Montpellier ( Ancel's team ) is looking for more people to work on Beyond Good & Evil 2. But since this is a Rayman forum, that's not the only thing I was going to say.
Look, there is quite some info on that page... I quote:
Founded in 1994, the Montpellier team has developed critically acclaimed titles such as Beyond Good and Evil® and Peter Jackson’s King Kong: The Official Game of the Movie. Ubisoft Montpellier currently counts more than 200 team members working on several cutting-edge, unannounced projects.
That's pretty much a confirmation that they are making other things than BG&E2. Rayman 4? Probably. =D

That makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. I only hope that it will be a million times better in every way than all the other games ever made put together.

They better make a feedback thread.

I'm always hearing that phrase "working on several unannounced projects." from Ubi. :fou2:

-Hey Jack, have you got any new ideas on Rayman 4?
-Nope, Michel, but...
-O.K., and you Kate, have you got any new ideas on Piston Alert?
-No, but I...
-Got it. EVERYBODY GO TO WORK ON BG&E2!

Why do Ubisoft choose to hide gaming development anyway? Why keep the fans (who possible won't be for much longer) on hold?

The reason is almost idiotical: because it makes sense. If all the porjects surviving concept lifetime part would be announced, this could actually cause LOTS of cancellations.

This is also the reason companies do not show everything in trailers: if you'd want to scrap it later, it would cause giant mess.

I'm not asking for Ubisoft to expose the storyline, characters, levels etc but just a heads up that it is in development. Without releasing any footage of minigames, trailers, cinematics or character images, that is.

And then make it neverending production like Fuke Dukem Norever (typos intentional). No, it's not a good idea. At least from programmer's view.

There is no Ubi studio in Poland btw, I just checked their corporate site. And it seems unrealistic for an 18 year old to have flown all the way to another country just to do work experience unless he's a foreign exchange student.

This is perhaps the fishiest rumour I've seen to date.

Wait, who said leaker is a Pole?

In case of bold part: it's actually REALISTIC. A lot of Polish people go to London/Paris/Madrid/etc. to just make money and spend them in Poland (which is cheaper, with smaller salaries). So why not?

Oh come on, surely nobody believes this video is real.

It's business. Business is a very private and secretive sort of thing that you don't want competing developers to influence or know about, because if they do, they have the upper hand. So revealing all your plans and whatnot would be shooting yourself in the foot, I guess.

Also, when you announce a game, you want something concrete to show people. This is what the game is about, here's some features etc. You can't do that early in development because what you have then might change. (a good example of someone who went way ahead of themselves a little bit early is Peter Molyneux, who promised so many features for the original Fable-game, that never made it into the final product. They came in Fable 2 though, apparently)
And you probably don't want there to be too long between the announcement of a game, and the release, because people are impatient and don't like waiting, and then they eventually loose interest. Looking at the newest Prince of Persia-game, I think that was announced like... half a year before it's release.

That video just doesn't make sense. Rayman 4 would have been announced a long time ago if the development was at such a point.

Besides that robot bug looking thing looks like something out of BAMZOOKi [some silly kids show in the UK that was about an app that came long before Spore did].
