Well that would be pretty awesome. By the way, I wonder if they have adapted the sprites to the resolution of the console, or just reduced the size of the screen. I'm afraid it's the latter, which can explain why they decided to add a broader view on the bottom screen.

Well, the review scores are up on IGN now, at least.

In a bizarre move they rated it higher than the clearly superior PS1 version.

The reviewers aren't equal.

Funny how this was released at around the time of spiraldoor's R1 remake topic.

Though it's not really an HD version. It's actually a slightly lower resolution with all the same sprites and all, though that's a good thing at the same time because they're not 16-color indexed or whatever as they are in Rayman Advance.

Jesus though... 10 HP? Honestly?

And you can't have everything from the PS1 version on the DSi. Just keep in mind that this is a downloadable game... on the DS. You have to keep up with size constrictions.

The resolution of the DSi screen is 256 px in width, while that of the original game is 320 px. Nuff said :|

My sister now has this on her new DSi (I kinda had to force her to get it though :P )

Small differences: Rayman's "YEAH!!" and a lot of other sound effects are lower-pitched than before; files can have up to four initials; music is slightly muffled but a lot better than Rayman Advance overall; you start out with 6 hits instead of 3.

There is also a new feature that records your achievements in the game, such as clearing worlds, freeing all the Electoons in the worlds, beating the game, and doing all that without using continues. I don't know if there is an actual reward or not yet.

I will post more as she gets farther into the game.

If the game came up months before, I think I would already have bought the DSi and having the opportunity to analyse it for myself.

I'm not sure what you mean; is it something like the PS3's/360's Trophies/Achievements?

Well, it's just a screen that you can access when the games is paused called "Anti-Dark Matters". It has a list of things to achieve in the game such as "All Cages", "Complete Forest", "Complete Game" and so on, and when you complete one of them, a check appears to the side of it. That's all.

EDIT: Haha! When the Magician holds out his hand so you can give him the tings, he actually says "Ten tings, please!" It's hilarious because it sounds like a cross between his PS1 voice and Mr. Garrison!

That isn't anything new to me, on the PC version that also happens. :)

In the PC version, he does it if you don't have enough Tings.

Darn, really? :( I was hoping that the Magician's voice actor was still around.

He does it no matter what here.

I shall record my PC gameplay one day... I've been experiencing upload problems lately, I think I must contact the responsible people of the Internet service.

I once recorded my PC gameplay with the intention of uploading it, but was too lazy to finish the job. :hinhin:

When the uploading problem gets fixed I will record again a PC gameplay, but with better quality.

Honestly though, this is like the 14th port(version) of Rayman 1. If you don't believe me look in Raywiki. Anyway, though the last thing Ubi could do is port Rayman to Wiiware! I think I may upgrade to a DSi just for this even though I got a DS Lite last Christmas. I am a collector of lots of Rayman games: I got every single version of R2 and RM. At least look at the bright side: This is the 1st Rayman game to come out since those pesky Rabbids games came out! Right?

Could you use any more smilies?

Honestly though, don't think that this is Ubi's first effort to spark the series again. They wanted a little cash, as if they didn't have enough already, pulled out an old classic, stuck it on the DSi, put in a camera feature, and bingo.

What I'd like to know is whether this is glitchy, because most ports of old 2D games usually are.
