Holy Hell, Dahl Tomasson was shit this match! Any competent forward would have scored at least two more goals given the opportunities he had! He even managed to miss a penalty, although he scored on the rebound. But if you look at the slow-mo replay of it you'll notice that the ball slides off his foot, and that he's extremely lucky that the ball doesn't go wide of the post.
Both of the teams I support went out of the tournament in one day. Fantastic! I guess I'll root for The Netherlands (my favourites to win the WC since the qualifying) and whatever team is the underdog in the match I happen to be watching. I also hope that Spain will fail to beat Chile tomorrow, that Switzerland make it as far as possible, and that England don't fail to miserably against Germany.

Dagnammit, Japan and Paraguay are facing each other, it seems! The two teams I will be rooting for when England get pummeled! First England vs Germany, now this... FIFA is out to get me. Or at least the lots which decide it. If there are lots.

Probably wrong, we never really won the world cup, but we DID get in the finals often.

Japan's match was just orsum, wasn't it?!
But I'm afraid of Japan - Spain... Japan is for sure a relatively good team but I don't think they can deal with Spain...

You made it to the very final twice, actually. In 1974 and '78. You should have won it, at least in '74, when you had the brilliant Johann Cruyff on your team. Unfortunately, you met West-Germany and Argentina in those finals, who both had the great advantage of hosting the championship. In addition to the legendary side of the '70s, you've always managed to produce generation after generation of fantastic players and national sides, like the one that won the European Championship in 1988, or the one that was beaten on penalties against Brazil in the semi-final in 1998. History owes The Netherlands a world championship, and imo this is their golden opportunity to finally get one.
