Exactly my opinion on them too.

I'm an occasional smoker....I guess ?
I don't smoke cigarettes, EVER. Tastes like ashes. I don't mind the smell tho, probably has to do with the fact my parents always smoked.
But depending if there is a festive occasion or not, I do smoke cigarillos or cigars. And I smoke them in the traditional fashion (AKA not breathing it, you keep the smoke in the mouth and release it).
Honestly it's a rare occurrence. I like being able to taste food too much to destroy my palate. Also i like having money. AND Not having mouth cancer. That too.

I don't smoke generally, but I'll always smoke something if it's being offered, just for the opportunity to be social. I've smoked a few things but to be honest, I really don't get why people do it (apart from my own reasoning). I don't get any meaningful pleasure or taste from it, especially tobacco... I can totally understand other forms of indulgence like alcohol, food, gambling, and can relate to some, just not smoking (anything) for some reason.

Reminds me of the guy who explained the philosophy of drinking to me on a night out last week. I assume everyone else already knows, but I can explain if you want.

Philosophy of drinking?

Basic axiom: Nobody likes the taste of drink! Therefore, the only thing that makes drinking bearable is the effect of the alcohol itself. I inquired about alcohol-free beer: apparently it's all about saving face, when being unable/unwilling to consume alcohol in a crowd of drinkers.
The same goes for nightclubs: you can't hear anyone because the music's so loud, you can't even see anyone because of the pulsing lights; it's
horrible! Thus the only way to enjoy nightclubs is drinking.
Voilà.

I kinda wonder if cider is free of alcohol since it's the only thing I like drinking when it comes to beer....

I never minded the taste of Lager especially after the first one but I get how a lot of fizzy drinks taste a lot nicer than it. I wish I could have a drink now that we're on that subject

Never tried cider, but it's fermented apple juice, right? So, alcoholic at least by default…

Yup, which is why I kinda like it, and it's the only beer(?) that i like. Great. Now I wanna drink too.

I wish my reflux would go away for a while and just let me have a 6 pack

Granted but then the 6 pack isn't fizzy.
I wish I could have something alcoholic and like it.

We really need to make an alcohol tread.

That's actually a pretty good idea.

I smoked marijuana, different races and different sensations, I have not smoked for 5 weeks, I think, I am quite healthy the truth. But let me tell you that it is the best method to relax and go on a "trip"

You know when you're a militant anti tobacco person but then you still wonder what the appeal even is for cigarettes and feel tempted to nick your parents' roll up and try. Buuut I'm one to stick by my guns though.
As for cider well, depends on the make I guess. I like some of the Henry Weston ones like old Rosie and their scrumpy. The less fizz the better but if it came to it I will try a fuzzy one. Main rule for trying a new booze is that it must be vegetarian with none of that isenglass/gelatine crap.
