Oh, that's a shame. :/ that game does sound very picky.

I hope everyone's as keen as I am on the audio rip project - because I'm looking foward to getting started! It will be nice to do something with this game that actaully works for a change, particually something which I can share with the rest of the Rayman community
I don't think I've shared this fact in full before, but as well as the multitude of wierd Rayman songs that play upon beating an activity, there are also sing alongs like the Betilla one in RAC (I know I've mentioned this bit ). There are actually 4 sing-alongs in total - 2 for each disc. This means there is a song for Betilla (this ones the same as the one we know but in French. It rhymes a lot better ), The Clown in Love (this one provides alot of information for the character!), Rayman (okay, this ones a little creepy) and the Magician (and this one's just plain wierd. I'm sure it will be pretty interesting when translated though - which will be easy thanks to the karoke lyrics at the bottom of the screen).

Aaaooooohhh, I'm interested to know what the Magician's song translates to.
Rayman's song should totally be this over and over:

Well, I've recorded the entire 2 CD soundtrack of Rayman CP. Now all that's needed is to edit it to make sure loop points work and to remove the unavoidable audio capture cable hissing.
It's so fun being able to listen to the soundtrack outside of the Packard Bell. The instrumental pieces remind me of old children cartoons from the 80s and 90s (by children, I mean really little children, from 2-6 ). Some of the songs with lyrics are really catchy, but a lot of them give me this face (especially with the animation running along side it) *Was totally not singing along to the Betilla song in English while recording it*

Great! Now I'm very curious about those 'songs' you are talking about. I do enjoy a bit of WTF. XD

Especially considering that that's what I do when I read most of your posts.

Well, here's a preview of my efforts - the noise removal was fairly easy on this one because I left a few seconds of hissing at the end which acted as a good preview for the program.
Yes, It's the Betilla the Fairy Singalong in French. I've got to admit, it rhymes a lot better here. For instance, the French for 'Fairy' and 'Star' ('Fée' and 'étoile') rhymes a bit better then 'Betilla' and 'Star' does . I also like the singing voice .
Unfortunately, I can't fix up the whole soundtrack today due to Coursework, aagh!
EDIT: Added a bad edit of a Rayman Activity Centre video so you can listen to the music without downloading it. The actual thing in Rayman CP displays the lyrics at the bottom of the screen

That's interesting, and it actually wasn't that bad. The melody got caught in my head, and the rhymes were well done. Are there any with other characters singing?
Off topic slightly, Electoon, did your install and play work flawlessly? I've put together a Windows 98 machine and it works fine (installation is smooth and everything), but when I try to play any of the Rayman games, the DOS window maximizes like normal, and just sits there endlessly loading and the cursor blinking with the normal "Ubi Soft Entertainment 1996" flashing in the corner. Did you ever have this problem?

Yes, there's a sing-along song for Rayman and one for the Clown. There's also one for The Magician but he isn't the singer. Plus, every time you win an activity, Rayman will sing a song with a certain theme (such as days of the week, transport, music etc.) as well as Joe the Cricket's songs in the English Workshop. Personally the Betilla song is one of the best ones, while some of the others are a little creepy frankly . There are a couple more hidden gems in there though, particularly when it comes to catchy melodies.

On the Packard Bell Computer which I used to rip the audio with, the game installed and worked first time. I've only ever had it crash once. I have yet to try building a new 95/98 machine from scratch, but right now that's looking easier then getting this capture card working....

Hmm, can't say I can help you there for now, but I swear I've had a similar issue in the past though, it sounds really familiar - probably from my old days with Rayman games in DOS
Rayman CP is a totally different beast from the DOS Rayman games though, as it's Windows based. I've got to say, the troubles with setting it up officially make it the hardest Rayman game of all time!

DAMN it I wish I knew french. Aside from that it seems pretty nicely done, I like the frog animation and the toaster, 2 animations we've never seen in rayman. Thanks very much for posting this.
Edit: Oh and that cat, somebody should sprite rip those, hahaha.

I think the French singer has a better voice than the English one. XD

I love that song. I also dont know french but thats not so bad thing. When theres good french voice acting like in this i somehow get the point. I just do. Same thing in R3. I played through it in French and in my opinion its a lot better than the english one. I laughed in moments where i didnt laugh in the english version. I laughed for Globox mostly, because his french actor is so very funny and 100 times better than Leguizamo who is annoying instead of funny. A good voice acting always makes happy, no matter if its in language that i dont know.
@ Haruka When i joined RPC you asked me to show you some Rayman Premiers Clics. If someone else hasnt already done it, i could maybe do it. These months i have started to learn some more about internet sharing. My classmate told me about some very simple video sharing (like Imgur, but for videos). Ill ask him more about that these days. Im not making a Youtube account. I cant waste my money on a fraps now, but i could photo the screen. My camera is not good for videos but i could send them in parts. I cant promise yet anything, but hopefully i can soon.

Sorry about the lack of updates recently, I have been really busy with school work among other things, and I can't see the situation improving much until the end of May when my exams are over ...
That aside, I still have been working with cleaning up the audio rips, slowly but surely. I'm definitely finding it easier to tidy up the songs with vocals at the moment - the hiss removes flawlessly and it sounds great. The instrumental tracks on the other hand, often come out like they're being played while dunked it water if I'm not careful . To make up for the lack of updates, I think I'm going to upload another of my rips to Youtube (this time without a music video to go along with it due to the lack of matching RAC footage, sorry!). However, I don't know which one to choose, or which one everyone would get the most fun out of! For this reason, I'm going to leave it up to you lot to decide out of the rips I've done so far. The choice is:
- Sing-along - Rayman's amazing racket
- Sing-along - The Clown in Love
- Prize song - Rayman's song about clowns
- Instrumental - Theatre
Take your pick!

Somehow I knew you were going to pick the broken track
This time, my lack of quick responses was due to the forum being down (seriously, how many times has this happened in the last few months), so sorry about that.
EDIT:
From the description:
"Yes, this one of the song's where I start to doubt Rayman's singing skills . If it's not already obvious from the lyrics, he's singing about all his friends. I like how Rayman actually comments that he has banana hair. We've all thought it before (well, at least I have since forever), but it's nice to hear it being said my the man himself! Nevertheless, after Rayman had completed his song, all his friends turned around and told him never to do it again "

Now I want to know the lyrics of those musics!
I'm surprised that Rayman's french voice in CP is also from Emmanuel Garijó, the same actor for French R2/RR/R3.

That's not Emmanuel Garijo. It's another actor, named Michel Mella, specialized in singing too (Hence this song). He is too the voice of the the Clown in Love in this game.
But Emmanuel Garijo has already Portrayed Rayman in an educational game : Rayman Premiers Clics.
