< just found out you can play a game of Snake on YouTube while you wait for a video to load. Nice easter egg.
< wonders if < could just use a VGA to component cable, get a component capture device and use that. < doesn’t care about quality, < just wants something that’s watchable.Hoodcom wrote:< Says likely online, unless ^ can find some local shops that may have any.Fifo wrote:< wonders where could < get that.Hoodcom wrote:< says that ^ could always see about getting a VGA capture device, so that ^ could retain the quality of the output.Fifo wrote:< wonders how to record video output from a PC (VGA output -> Composite/S-Video).
Also depends on what resolutions ^ plans to record. Basic things down to 640 x 480 at 60Hz then ^ could get by with AverMedia products.
Now if ^ wants oddball resolutions or lower resolutions that DOS games can output, then ^'d be looking at far more expensive items to handle it.
< hopes ^ gets better soon.Bradandez wrote:< has a bad headache.
< guesses if such an adapter exists (might be active, not passive), but always could be worth a look for ^.Fifo wrote:< wonders if < could just use a VGA to component cable, get a component capture device and use that. < doesn’t care about quality, < just wants something that’s watchable.
Active? Passive? < was referring to a cable, not an adapter:Hoodcom wrote:< guesses if such an adapter exists (might be active, not passive), but always could be worth a look for ^.Fifo wrote:< wonders if < could just use a VGA to component cable, get a component capture device and use that. < doesn’t care about quality, < just wants something that’s watchable.
< Says that active solution is a device that does processing to convert one signal to another or upscales it. Passive is just a simple cable adapter. In this case, the cable won't work. It's not that simple.Fifo wrote:Active? < wonders if it would work if plugged into a device like this:

< thinks this would be the simplest (and I think cheapest) solution for recording VGA… …as <’s PC only has integrated graphics.Hoodcom wrote:< says that active solution is a device that does processing to convert one signal to another or upscales it. VGA typically outputs RGBHV (Red, Green, Blue, Horizontal, and Vertical signals.) A prime example of this are BNC cables you can buy for certain CRT monitors.
However, if ^ has a GPU that has support for component (or S-Video) then that would be beneficial.
< wonders if it’s a PAL or NTSC version. Also < wonders if it’s a Platinum/Greatest Hits or a black label version.Ambidextroid wrote:< finally got <'s copy of Rayman 1 for PS1. Time to get playing!
A black label version of the game has a PlayStation logo on a black background: and a colorful disc:Ambidextroid wrote:It's PAL, but < doesn't know what the 'label' refers to. It's just the standard case of no particular edition.
Well... [The Sansa rape scene in the end made me really angry. Who the fuck does Ramsay Bolton think he is?!]The Big Boss wrote:< wonders what was so sad about it.
Me too! < only has 1 boxed Platinum game in <’s PS1 collectionImco wrote:<'s got the beautiful yellow disc
