Would you guys say there is one fight against Razoff then? Or would you call that two? The only difference is that in Razoff's case, he gets a new life bar; in R2 the same life bar is used.
However, the Razorbeard fight (and the Razoff fight) can be separated into two distinct phases, each taking place in a different area, with the boss performing different attacks and different gameplay actions that are required from the player. In many other cases (Axel, Foutch, Master Kaag, Begoniax, Celoche, etc) there is really only 1 stage. So Razorbeard and Razoff do stand out.

There may be one fight overall but there are numerous battles. In other words, Rayman fights the enemy multiple times but only defeats it once.
