So? Simply because our parents provide for us doesn't mean there won't be issues between us and them. You are simplifying the relationship between parents and children.

One shouldn't ignore their own problems that rise up and say "I'm sorry father" and hold the emotions inside. That's stupid as fuck. So is the "We're your parents, we deserve respect" shit if they don't even give you any at all in the first place. It's a two way street.

We should have gratitude for them providing for us, that I understand. But sometimes even as a kid you have to put your foot down in respect to how you are being treated.

---

Also, your post isn't very helpful to people really having problems with their parents (or anything else that can be worrying any of us) and it isn't welcoming to those that come here to share things off of their chest. (Not that we should be sugar coating stuff or going AWWW but you get the idea) It'll hurt others because they might be afraid to post what they think. So if you don't have any stressful things to talk about, or any advice/help/critique to show in this thread, then please get the fuck out of it until you do. This post just pisses me off a bit.

Love you for making this post. Two things on my mind in reply.

1. Get used to spiral or generally everyone here coming off as a huge cunt - which you probably should already be considering how long you've been here. We're usually joking and I can't tell, but I'm assuming his comment was at least semi-dry if not completely.

2. I agree completely. First of all, holding feelings inside is proven to be harmful and can cause numbness and/or depression - which it has for me. That, and parents and older authority in general bending over and demanding their asses to be kissed while giving not a single shred of respect or even decency in return is the largest load of shit. That being said though has caused my mind to wander onto the whole "Problems with school" topic which I feel I should go into full detail about, but I don't want to since I already have.

Spiral usually makes some of the more thoughtful posts on here, that there was just b-side that made it onto the album.

This is an observation?:

In some of our circumstances, the extent of this 'provision' is providing us with food and a bed. If this to you translates to 'providing in every case', then that also implies that you believe parenting doesn't require anything more than the most basic material support. If that's not what you meant, then you hadn't actually fully read a single one of our complaints.

You know "every case" means "every instance" right.

...That doesn't change the implication of your post, as they are synonyms, i.e. both "case" and "instance" refer to a singled out example of a common occurrence. So you saying/meaning "who provide for them in every instance" would not have made the slightest difference to how people responded to you.

Yes it does, I was saying that all the moaning in this thread seems to be about parents that the moaners are currently depending on, and I did not comment on the nature of the provisions at all. Can you all please stop dissecting my simple comment to find more inferences to fuel your circle-jerk of rage.

The only reason anyone dissected it was because you felt the need to defend it, and there is nothing wrong with either of those things. And not everyone was raging at you, some were just trying to better understand your view point.

Not if you insist on assuming this is a circle-jerk when you're the one who made the poorly thought-out comment in the first-place. The poorly though-out part of course being the one I quoted twice which, despite everything, is pretty painful to read, due to how it much an observation it isn't. ;)

Weren't you often one to be annoyed by the accusation of being devoid of life? Those were ignorant comments which simplified your personality down to a single incorrect sentence, and you were right to get annoyed by them. This is the exact same thing.

Well no, there was a string of massive posts tearing me down right after the first comment.

This started as a general thread for people to complain about stuff, I noticed that it was mostly dependants complaining about their parents, I pointed it out, that's ALL.

Well that was kind of different because it was a personal attack on me specifically, while what I did here was make a broad comment on the sort of posts a whole lot of people seem to be making in this particular thread.

Yes, I understand that, but it carried incredibly obvious and heavy implications (which could only unintentionally exist as a result of not understanding what exactly people are complaining about), and you've not made a single attempt to rectify that; dismissing it is not the same thing. If you intended to make these obvious implications, then I think all the replies you received would be reasonable.

Folks please calm down, everybody have its opinions on a topic, like spiral here which i gotta say, that was kinda jerkish with some of the people telling their own familiar problems, like myself which, although i have many great friends here and on school,my parents still think i pass too much time on my games and pc,although i do more then play games, sure i do alot of it,but its not something serious compared to drugs, they complain mostly cuz i dont pass time with them, even though im on my vacations only now and i just wish to rest in my way

hmm, seems I missed yet another eventful day. personally as long as said doldrums dont take a new turn towards "I'm going to murder my parents" I could care less about what they say (by that I mean that I DO care, but not in the sense that it annoys me, if that makes sense!)

While I'd rather not add to the drama, I can't help but comment on the fact that you're clearly oblivious of child abuse and neglect. But then again I can't really say anyone here has been abused or neglected as that's something I haven't any knowledge of.

What the fuck are you talking about? I thought the others were extrapolating way too much from what I said but this is INSANE. Please say you're taking the piss.

I think the subject can be dropped now. Maybe what spiral meant to say just came out wrong.

I'm one-hundred percent sure that it came out wrong, but regardless of how ridiculous the assumptions people are making are, spiral seems to not want to - regardless of what others have posted - even address his… 'phrasing', let alone admitting it was totally, factually off.

It's literally someone who arbitrarily walks into a cultural group just to say something totally uneducated/shallow for virtually no reason and then walk out to wait for people's reactions, then goes "what did I say?" when he finally gets one.

How did I not address my phrasing when everything I've posted today was specifically about my phrasing.

You use way too many comparisons like this. I prefer talking about actual things that happened and not hypothetical scenarios that are vaguely and debatably similar.

Fuck it, I'm on holidays, let's see how long we can keep this shit going.
