Do you REALLY hate Rayman 3 so much? It was brilliant!

Well, now that we're on that... here's how mine currently goes in the main series.
0. If the original concept of Rayman 4 would've made it, it would very likely be here. 1. Rayman 3 2. Rayman 2 3. Rayman M 4. Rayman Legends 5. Rayman Origins 6. Rayman 1
Don't hate me. R1 might come last, but it's awesome as well.

Is zero even a place?
Anywho, so I got my copy from Gamestop and it actually is different from other retailers, which is pretty cool. I barely got to the half of Teensies in Trouble but overall I'm loving the game!

It's a zero because the game doesn't actually exist due to this world being so harsh.

As I said in my post, I said from favourite to least favourite and not from best to worst. I don't hate R3, but I like the others better.

For me it's
1:Rayman 1
2:Rayman 2/Revolution
3:Rayman legends
4:Rayman 3
5:Rayman Origins
6:Rayman Rush/M
7: Rayman Junior

I don't hate it. As I said before, I freaking loved it. I played it three times in a row and I enjoyed all of them. The game is pure genius.
But it isn't even close to being as atmospheric or happy as Rayman 2 or even Rayman 1. I forgive the Desert of the Knaaren, because that place is supposed to be hostile, but making the Glade such a dark place with a boring atmosphere? I don't like that at all. And yes Haruka, I said I enjoyed the Fairy Council.
Oh, I also agree with Droolie. The ending in R3 is better, unsatisfying (because you find out Rayman was the one who fucked up) but better than just credits. And the story in general, even if for me is kind of annoying, at least has more existence than RL. However, you're missing a little point. The gameplay affects the experience more than the story in many aspects. And even if you're right when you say the gameplay is kind of the same thing on every level, you won't deny that the combat in R3 was just "turn right-punch-turn left-punch-avoid attack-repeat". That's why I think RL is better than R3 in every sense.
I disagree that R3 has more atmosphere than RL. That's just impossible. The surrealist-yet-legendary settings supported by epic music in Rayman Legends are for a mile more interesting than the dirty swamps and grey forests with generic music from R3. If every level in R3 was more like the fairy council, now that aspect would be debatable.
Now, there's something that you totally nailed, Droolie: Exploring the universe of Rayman established from Origins to Legends in full 3d would be INCREDIBLE... but something that I don't imagine coming soon.
Knowing Ubisoft's current philosophy, and reading a few hints on a pair of interview, I wouldn't be surprised if we got a third ubiart Rayman game the next year.

I hope new Rayman game gets announced soon. I don't feel replaying Legends levels anytime soon. I guess I will stick with challanges.

Probably around October-December.

I'm predicting it will be announced at the next E3.

Lets hope next year I have availability to watch the next E3 live, but I would be surprised if now in June 2014 a new game would be announced, so my bets go to 2015.

All of you said good predictions. Maybe this is how it will be:
In December 2013 leaked trailer, E3 2014 official announcement, 2015 release date.

Personally, if they're to announce yet another 'un, I'd like for there to be a short break thereafter, while I love the series, having each game come consistently is going to get old.

I'd like at least one more Ubiart 2D game, but personally I would much prefer to see Beyond Good and Evil 2 be Ancel's main focus now. Then after that a 3D Rayman. I won't be surprised if we see a follow up to Jungle run sometime soon though.

Aghhh, the music is so incredibly underrated.
But on a serious note: I don't see why Rayman's world should always have to be wacky and happy. The problem is that it would have worked better if Rayman 3 wanted to be a serious game. In my opinion, the best way to perfect Rayman 3 is take out the humour, more platforming and double the length of the game. While I will go to great extends to defend the third installment, I can't deny that it lacks something like The Bayou. Imagine having that in The Bog of Murk. Murk's got some of the best music in the game (0pini0n) and together with the visuals of R3 I could imagine it being a favourite area of mine.

I have serious doubts of another 2D platformer following the style of Origins being anything special. It would becomes New Super Mario Bros. U, where the original concept is still a lot of fun but lacks anything interesting for people who've played the other games.
Also, some absolutely wonderful promotion for the game:

I posted that video before.
R3 still has got better atmosphere in places like LOTLD, TLS, TSBTC, TFC and TDOTK. The others could have been much better if there was a bigger effort.
