It isn't exactly something I've "recently" watched, but it's been my favourite since I saw it.
Have you watched Shaun of the Dead too? Directed by Edgar Wright and starring Simon Pegg as well, the whole movie cracked me up.

I thought Shaun of the Dead was overrated, and really sad :( I went along expecting some great laughs and just ended up depressed. And from the guys who brought us the TV series SPACED I was hugely disapointed about how grim it was. I know it's a Zombie film but BrainDead was much funnier (mowing down the army of the undead with a lawnmower > being forced to shoot your own aged ill mother because she's been bitten)

And because of Shaun of the Dead I was REALLY reluctant to watch Hot Fuzz. But I actually enjoyed it :)

You are lucky to see movies like Kung Fu Panda, Up or other animation movies...
To see Wall-E I had to buy the DVD.

Why? My parents don't like animation movies, they say it's for kids. I'm DAMNED! DX>

I know, I tried to tell them that these movies are made by ADULTS, but my father always think it's for "little kids"...Wow, what an insult for other teenagers and ADULTS who go to see it...

BUT I had the oportunity of seing ice age 3 with a friend and her parents...Why I have parents who are too much "serious"? *sigh*

If anyone thinks animated movies are just for kids they've got another thing coming. Show them the Plague Dogs or Grave of the Fireflies. =P

Glad to hear I'm not the only one that thought Shaun of the Dead wasn't that great.

Phew me too!

People who say that 'animation is kids stuff' have obviously never watched South Park

I've managed to get my parents into animation. One of my dad's fave movies is WALL.E ^_^

My mum has always loved cartoons, perhaps even before I was born. She often tells me about how she liked Scooby Doo and Count Duckula, and then I go to tell her about the gruesome animations I've seen, hell everytime I watch Watership Down everyone's like "oooh you're brave watching that".

I wouldn't call it a great movie but I laughed till the end, which is what I would expect of a comedy. Can't say I found it sad though ^^

Seriously, I had no idea what this film was going to be like...and it astounded me. I laughed, I cried, I had fangirly spasms (Mr T!). Everything from the characters to the voices to the animation to the story to the jokes all worked like MAGIC. It hit home what people SHOULD be doing with 3D animation technology instead of striving for things like Avatar, which are very pretty but don't make a fun animated romp. This film had some of the most beautiful squash and stretch I've ever seen in a 3D movie.

If you've not seen this film I recommend it from the bottom of my heart. Even the end credits filled me with joy.
I've never heard anything positive about this film, I might go check it out in 3D. Supposedly if you put the glasses on you get a trippy effect.
Wow really? I've only heard good things, but then again I'm an animator dork who gets excited over 'squash and stretch' XD

I didn't see it in 3D, it's a good film without ;) Same with UP. Great film, but you don't need to see it in 3D for it to be great
Usually I'll see a film in 3D if I have seen the film already, or if it wasn't given good reviews, and just to see it for fun. I saw My Bloody Valentine just to see it in 3D, even though the movie was just pure garbage.

I love how while working at the school I was trying to encourage the kids to go see Coraline, and some came back telling me it was 'too scary'.

Seeing as I grew up with Watership Down and the Don Bluth films I'm all in favor of kids horror films. I don't think kids should be exposed to things like Friday 13th when they're 9 or anything, but 'safe' horror is a must for kids.

The scene in Watership down that was pretty nightmare fuelish was when Holly was recalling their old home being dug up. Can't find it on its own on Youtube so...

That scared me more than the snare scene.

It's incredible how that film was rated "suitable for all". I mean, dogs tearing rabbit bodies up and having there be blood pouring out and spraying everywhere is the last thing on a child's mind...
