That has to be the most surreal thing I've seen today. No wait, the most surreal thing I've seen in a while

. It was pretty interesting that Rayman's...umm...girlfriend? was a Raymanian/Rayman's species/big nosed limbless thing after the whole epic abandonment of the concept of their being others from Rayman 2 onwards...

I am confuzzled as EVER! The story of globox was even TWICE as weird then the one with Rayman, but what I REALLY want to know is who the hell Rayman was with? Was that his mom or girlfriend?

ok ok ok calm down guys I got this... Ok no, I'M CONFUSED AS FUCK! this story doesn't make any, ANY sense. The relics are inconclusive and possibly just theories (pretty much like... who knows, legends drawn by the teensies?). Actually, I can't take this story seriously, it was possibly just made to make people laugh, that's all. I mean, seriously, according to this story, how old is Rayman supposed to be? where is his girlfriend? why does he have hair during the first trailer after being created by betilla?

Those pieces of hair... seems awfully familiar to the Bubble Dreamers hair.

I don't think Rayman would suit long hair either.. short hair suits him just fine~

I'm pretty sure it was meant to be some sort of girlfriend, as their was clearly some sort of love theme running at the beginning, and It would be really weird if his own mother disowned and starting attacking him for having hair...
Yeah, it's hard to describe something so weird....

Normally I'd let this slip, but just to let you know:
bold = daring, courageous, adamant
bald = no hair

Gosh, I can't say I like the idea of living hairs attatching themselves to Rayman's hair...
But could this be enough to say that maybe it isn't set in stone that Rayman is the only one of his kind?
No excuse now, Ubisoft. Bring back Tarayzan.

Do you think perhaps the Bubble Dreamer gave Rayman some of his own hair, because he saw a hero within Rayman when the world needed one, and brought Rayman forth even at the cost of Rayman's own happiness?
Sorry, I said Rayman so many times because it would have been confusing to use pronouns.

I wish people wouldn't care about canon that much. Because in all honesty, there is none and there never has been.
Same with lots of other game series, take Final Fantasy for example: why are there chocobos and phoenix downs in every game while the worlds aren't actually connected to each other? Simple: because there is no canon in the series. Every game has a separate story. The end.
Oh and I'm aware that the Rayman series makes it look like there is one - especially Rayman Origins. But I think those are just hints toward the player that this is still a Rayman game. Think too much about it, and you'll find contradictions.

This is the biggest WTF we’ve seen so far. I wonder if it was the original developers or the team in charge of the Vita port that came up with this? It’s a pity they didn’t just illustrate Rayman’s creation by Betilla and his defeat of Jano; an interesting and worthy origin story. Instead they’ve taken the general idea of Globox’s red-to-blue story and applied it directly to Rayman. ‘Let’s make up a reason for one of Rayman’s features... hmm... how about his hair?’
Are we now supposed to imagine that Rayman was bald when he was created by Betilla, and when he fought Jano? Where did the woman come from, and who is she, and where did she go? What’s the weird spot on top of the bald Rayman’s head? Now I’m sort of relieved that there were only two Relic cutscenes; we’d probably have been subjected to tales of how Sssssam gained his scales and Betilla acquired her eyeballs.

So...Rayman was bald and had a wife.He wasn't created by the nymphs,now he was born normally? Okay,and then a hair creatures go on their own,so when Rayman uses his helicopter some creatures,who think on their own,start to spin? Mmmkay...
I preferred it being normal hair,and Rayman's wife's never appeared and is very ugly.Probably Rayman's now single because I believe they automatically broke up in the end of the video and never met again.

Of course Rayman was created by the nymphs. It’s in the trailer, it’s on the site, it’s in the manual, and it’s mentioned by the Bubble Dreamer in the game itself. What part of the mosaic contradicts this?
What the hell are those hair creatures, anyway? Where did they come from? It was unnecessary to give us an explanation of how Rayman first gained the ability to fly, since Betilla granted him that power in the original game, but I don’t mind this sort of inconsistency; many game sequels, like Metroid and Crash Bandicoot, begin with the protagonist mysteriously de-powered for gameplay reasons.

Well,in the trailer the nymphs already created him with hair...anyways maybe Betilla just gave him the power to control the creatures so he can use the helicopter whenever he wants to,instead of depending on the creatures...

The old trailer isn’t really canon, as the game has changed drastically since then (it’s no longer a prequel, etc). We know that Rayman was definitely created by the nymphs, but it didn’t necessarily happen in the exact way that it’s shown in the trailer.
I’m starting to like the story with the bald Rayman, the wife and the parasitic hair. The games have always been so bizarre that it sort of fits somehow.
