I have got one thing to say:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-qR0Uke2 ... u.be&t=20s
Seriously

WHAT THE HECK!

Oh Ubisoft, you surely have got sense of humour, ehehehe... This is not true...
...
Ahem... OK, let's be honest: I won't take this mosaic seriously.
This contradicts so many things! What the heck was then the gliding power that Holly Luya gives away in the Desert of the Didjiridoos? It was all fake

?! And what if the E3 2010 trailer is still a canon? What the heck was the gliding in Betilla's skirt? And if we decide to go for non-canonical facts: what the heck was Rayman's dialogue in No Parking's episode end of "Oh its just a little trick I've learnt." when he starts to glide while holding LacMac, Betina and Cookie?
And who the hell was the female limbless character? I hope it isn't what I'm thinking.
I'm sorry guys, but I won't take this mosaic seriously. Or else I'll...

Characters lose weapons, items and abilities in between videogames all the time. Explanations usually aren’t given. I’m used to this, so it doesn’t bother me.

It’s just an oldtrailer; it’s not meant to be taken too seriously. For example, it states that the game is about Rayman and Globox becoming the heroes we know from the other games, which clearly isn’t the case in the final product.

I don’t think the developers care about the animated series. Origins makes no references to it whatsoever. Not even vague or stylistic ones. Nothing.

It is true. Well, in this case we could say the mosaic event happened way before Rayman 1 and he somehow lost the gliding power. Hmmm, now that we talk about Rayman 1, I think this somehow explains why Rayman's hair could "unstick" from his head:

There's an animation in Rayman 1 for PS1 everytime we start to play a level part, which is his body parts joining up together, including his hair:

OK, this is scary.

That's why I said in case if the trailer still kept as a cameo, but it doesn't happen to be that anymore since the final script of RO got drastically changed.

Again, I only said in case we would go to pick up non-canonical facts. Of course they wouldn't care about the TV Series.

So does everyone think the girl is his love interest? To me it looks more like his mom because of the hairstyle. Rayman can't be that old! In the scene where he's getting a kiss, he's laughing like a little kid. But then again...didn't the Rayman 4 artwork of his girl friend also have an afro styled hair-do? I can't remember..

Haha, of wow I don't really know what to say about that Rayman relic. :'D It's kind of adorable and 'wtf' at the same time?
Welp, as long as this stays as a PSVita-exclusive thing I could personally just shrug it off as some extra 'what if'-scenario.. not that Rayman games have ever made much sense anyhow. :')

Does anyone remember that Halloween episode of The Simpsons where Homer gets Snake’s hair transplanted onto him?

Hell Toupée, a great episode. And indeed this mosaic has a similar story to that episode, in a way

Is it just me, or did that look really painful when the hair was dragging him away from his wife/girlfriend/mom lady?

Maybe the hair controls Rayman, and we’ve really been playing as the hair for the last seventeen years without realising it.

That would be massively creepy. Why the fuck did I decide to go to Rayman PC today and ruin my childhood!?
Oh sorry, I visit Rayman PC every day. Silly me

Maybe I should do something with that animation someday.....still don't know what though

I'll admit that my day didn't start well today and this mosaic felt like a falling rock into my head. I guess I need some sleep.
