This mosaic is Mind-Rape.
I've decided to save myself a migraine and just not consider it canon, even though it is.

Re: Rayman Origins
It makes you wonder if Rayman is nothing but a mixture of different species working together to form an interesting thingamajig. His shoes seems to have a life of their own as well as his gloves. Next thing you know we'll be finding out that his hoody also has a life of its own.spiraldoor wrote:Maybe the hair controls Rayman, and we’ve really been playing as the hair for the last seventeen years without realising it.

Ba? What?
Man. Have I been away from this forum for too long?
Haha, I don't exactly know what to say about this mosaic. Although, I do love the story.
Well then..

Re: Rayman Origins
No, his girlfriend in "Rayman 4" had spikish hair, and I tried to copy the design into Raven, one of the characters in my game, minus the fucking huge tits that the Rayman 4 artwork originally depicted.Sohzi wrote:But then again...didn't the Rayman 4 artwork of his girl friend also have an afro styled hair-do? I can't remember..
That's what it felt like here too.Haruka wrote:I'll admit that my day didn't start well today and this mosaic felt like a falling rock into my head. I guess I need some sleep.
Really though, what were they thinking? This almost seems like a completely random generation of events. They don't explain any of the things we've wanted to hear, and they're pretty much all completely unimportant. We didn't even know Globox wasn't always blue until Origins, and then they explain it 1) In the same game, so it didn't really serve a ton of purpose, 2) With a bunch of bugs stinging him making him turn blue. Isn't that just a bit stupid? The same goes for Rayman not having hair: They explain it 1) in the game game, so it didn't really serve a ton of purpose, 2) A bunch of random hair particles jump on his head for seemingly no reason, and this 'WTF' female Raymanian with again no explanation (even though IN THE SAME GAME it stated Rayman was unique) appears, and then leaves Rayman because he has hair now.
Is it so hard to ask for something that makes sense and will actually answer relevant questions, like this deal with Jano, and the story behind Rayman's birth?
Re: Rayman Origins
Exactly. I'm obviously disappointed with Ubisoft. In E3 2010, Rayman Origins did look a quite promising game capable to answer to many questions of the fandom but Ubisoft or seems to not have understood that yet or they don't want to care about the fandom or they wanted to try to be funny. Thank you Ubisoft for ruining a small percentage of my childhood. Is it so hard asking a proper mosaic about the First Bad Dream or any other interesting (and coerent) trivia of the Glade of Dreams?RayFan9876 wrote: Really though, what were they thinking? To be honest, Globox's fact of skin colour changing isn't as bad as the fact of Rayman's lack of hair. I sometimes start to think that Ubisoft needs 2 or 3 serious representatives of the fandom to create something related with the trivia of the Glade of Dreams.

Re: Rayman Origins
Haha, I sometimes wish Ancel was working with the team that worked on the Assassin's Creed series, especially Assassin's Creed II. Talk about a good storyline and production, they know how to create an atmosphere and never disappoint the fans and answer the right questions (well, Revelations was a bit of a let down, but hardly in comparison to these relics).Haruka wrote:I sometimes start to think that Ubisoft needs 2 or 3 serious representatives of the fandom to create something related with the trivia of the Glade of Dreams.
Rayman Origins faithfully brought back Rayman, though it did mess with the storyline a bit. Now these relics just royally fuck up everything we've ever known and make almost no sense. The hair story almost feels like it was created in the mind of a four year old, and I don't mean that in an innocent creative way, I mean it's like trying to describe to a four-year-old why their story would not be fit for the public; because it's really, really bland and random.

Re: Rayman Origins
Screw the fangirls, this is even more fun to watch!
Personally, I don't take the relics seriously at all. I also don't believe in the 'How Globox Turned Blue' story, ever since I saw it in the artbook. I think, storywise, Origins is not a good game to base your ideas upon. For the rest, it's a great Rayman game and all, but it messes with everything you've come to know over the years about the limbless hero.

Re: Rayman Origins
Ok, I'm having a nice tea cup, now I can think better.
Well, a clever Rayman fan wouldn't take the mosaics seriously, these are obviously there just to give the player a chuckle. We can't even confirm on the wiki if the theory of "How Globox became blue" is completely legit. What if the teensies were responsible of these drawings? according to the bubble dreamer, teensies are well known for their "tall tales", and according to the website, they have made various theories about how globox became blue, this may be one of these stories, including Rayman's hair story.
Ok, now...
What's the problem with the female limbless creature? that's obviously "Who you think she is", she's totally not Rayman's mother (romantic music) nor a friend (come on, she kissed his BALD HEAD), that's right, she's Rayman's scrapped girlfriend from Rayman 4, I think we all agree, IT CAN'T BE MORE EXPLICIT. They obviously broke up because she disliked his hair, it's also possible that Rayman got lost after the hair started using the helicopter and never found his girlfriend again. So yeah, Rayman's now single ready to mingle.
Now, spiraldoor, you asked what were those weird white spots on rayman's bald head. It's just a shiny effect, nothing else, you know, because Rayman was BALD, BAAALD, BAAAALD!!!

Re: Rayman Origins
The old trailer showing Rayman's birth screws up the mosaic story further.
Suppose the mosaics were made up, in-universe? It was said that the red wizards were at argument at how Globox became blue. Perhaps they wrote that story themselves to satisfy the debates, just like a fan IRL would write a fanfiction.
In hindsight, there is a lot of encouragement throughout the series for fans to "create" their own Rayman universe.

I hope they make Bald Rayman a playable character in the next Rayman game.

Re: Rayman Origins
Rofl, maybe he could try that retarded arm flapping thing Globox does
OH WAIT
OH WAIT
Re: Rayman Origins
Now I'm imagining what Rayman 1 would've been like if Rayman was bald... Makes recieving the super helicopter poition veeery awkward. XD
Re: Rayman Origins
I'm a bit less stressed with the bald Rayman, I'm just hoping it's all thought up by the Teensies or other people of the Glade.
