Re: Something Bothering you?/Daily Doldrums
I have trouble with keeping still. I'm not overly active or anything, but I always jimmy-jam my leg(s) and play drum patterns using my fingers and legs in various ways.

These bitches haven't been clipped in years. Blurry and generally shitty pictures of nails aside (which look far worse in real life), I've biten my nails and the skin around them for years and it's a habit that I just can't quit. My parents had been a bit angry about it at first when it became a habit but eventually gave up after it went on for years and they thought they'd seen the last of me having normal fingers. All the fingers on both of my hands are chewed up, nail and skin, but luckily I haven't had any bleeding - or at least I don't recall any - but I've had pain from it and red, sore areas.OldClassicGamer wrote:What bothers me lately is biting nails habbit which I wish I could stop.

do you guys by any chance have siblings? I'm just so frustrated because my brother hogs our laptop so I can never finish working on the Lets-play that I've been planing for over 2 months now! really wanted episodes 1-3 out before new years

I do, but we use different stuff. He has his new Laptop that I don't use, I have Desktop PC he doesn't use. Perhaps you could try explaining him that you need to finish Let's Play and ask him to wait a bit.dartofthedavros wrote:do you guys by any chance have siblings? Ah, computer sharing, I count myself lucky as we all have our own laptops now.

Re: Something Bothering you?/Daily Doldrums
Yep, though we generally keep to ourselves. Most of the modern consoles are his, and we do 'share' them, but given that I'm a PC fellow, that's not really a problem. I'm allowed to use the Wii U, 360, XOne, 3DS or PS3 whenever he's not using them, which is fine by me. We've been sharing stuff since forever, and we're generally structured and good-natured about it. He sometimes enjoys watching me play through games he already has as well, and will often give that priority over playing by himself.dartofthedavros wrote:do you guys by any chance have siblings? There was a time we had to share computers, but I'm the kind of person who would just go and find some way to get another computer or enough money to get one. It's really not that difficult a task, and it beats putting up with the alternative.

Re: Something Bothering you?/Daily Doldrums
I have an older brother and an older sister.
Our relationships tend to vary wildly. We're either getting along very well, at each others throats, or just completely apathetic (this is mostly me though).
Nowadays, PC sharing is never an issue, as everyone has their own laptop now (my brother bought one, I bought a new one, I'm giving my mother my old one, my mother and father bought one for my sister, and we bought one for my dad as a Christmas present). There is also a desktop PC in both my mother and my father's house. Even before we all had our own laptops, it was never an real issue though.
Game consoles have mixed ownership. I own the Wii, Wii U, 3DS, and the PSP. My brother owns the Xbox, Xbox 360, PS2, PS4, and PS Vita. The PS3 was a Christmas present for all of us from my Dad, though it's sort of become mine as I'm the only one who uses it much anymore. My sister owns a DS Lite, though rarely uses it. So I mostly use it to catch up on DS games on occasion, using my R4 cartridge. We also have a PS1, but it isn't really used.
Issues in my family are mostly related to finance, and the fact that the rest of my family are, quite frankly, very close minded a lot of the time and try to force things down my throat, as well as other miscellaneous things (for example, my brother won't ever tidy up after him. He's basically turned our gaming room into a kip, and I have been playing my laptop and handhelds mostly because of this when I want to play games. He also loses a lot of my stuff as a result. I can't find my Wii U Pro Controller currently). I'm not perfect myself, but I'll admit to my flaws, even if they think I don't (the problem is, they target all of the wrong things when trying to criticise me). The problem is, the rest of the family won't (though my brother is getting a bit better).
My granny also lives in an attached flat, and she brings her own fair share of problems. I honestly can't talk to her without getting lectured over the silliest things. Not to mention she is a very presumptuous person. She's also the very reason why my dog is forced to live with my dad, meaning I can only see him every fortnight. It really saddens me, as I love the little guy.
I try to remain caring towards my family, but that in itself is a problem - I shouldn't HAVE to try. I should be able to like them consistently enough to feel more at home with them. But we are too dysfunctional. I honestly think things will only patch up once my brother and myself get our own places and what not. The distance would be good for us.
I don't think I'm in the worst situation, I'm just not really happy, and would like to know what that feels like once again.

Re: Something Bothering you?/Daily Doldrums
cue pathetic pity party in 3,2,1....
I guess where I should start off is how I act here, and the internet in general. I feel like I act like an overly cautious and incredibly idiotic kind of person, constantly trying to look smart and spell all my words perfectly, but that doesn't sound like me at all. In reality i'm very sarcastic and goofy and downright loyal when I become friends with somebody, but for some reason i'm not here, maybe i'm just a little bit scared. I want to change. I want you guys to know the real me just as much as i've gotten to know you, because right now all you see of me is the bumbling idiot that cant even look up something when he's on google chrome!
in a way, I'm writing this because my older brother keeps calling me retarded and stupid and its definitely been getting to me. Kinda like SB above me I really just dont remember what it feels like to be properly happy in life anymore. even gaming has become dismal due to the never ending time war of consoles and my step-dad blocking everything (including access to all internet related apps/functions on it) but games up to "T"
I am very glad i could get this off my chest, it feels a bit better talking to you guys than keeping my pain inside, i know i've been a bit lame but i really hope to fix that, cheers to 2014 and a whole new year!

I actually totally disagree. You often don't capitalise the beginnings of your sentences, and even many of your I's. I always perceived you to be one of the most laid-back members of the forum who didn't always care a whole lot about trying to come across as perfect, and I mean that as a good thing.dartofthedavros wrote:I feel like I act like an overly cautious and incredibly idiotic kind of person, constantly trying to look smart and spell all my words perfectly
Re: Something Bothering you?/Daily Doldrums
My PS4 has locked me out of every application I downloaded because apparently "Only users who hold a licence for this application can start it." and I somehow do not have one.
Re: Something Bothering you?/Daily Doldrums
Why did that happen? Did you like to gameshare with friend who has licence or what?
Re: Something Bothering you?/Daily Doldrums
No, I got a replacement PS4 because the people delivering the one at launch threw it over a 1.5m high fence instead of knocking (seriously). The problem was I had not activated the new one as my primary PS4.

I could, but he has a rather short temper sadly, so I have to wait until i'm alone at my dads to do anything long-term.OldClassicGamer wrote:I do, but we use different stuff. not a bad idea! although my 2015 trip to france is definitely taking up a majority of my budget, I could totally scrap some additional money.Adsolution wrote:There was a time we had to share computers, but I'm the kind of person who would just go and find some way to get another computer or enough money to get one. huh, never thought of myself as laid-back. But I do like that mentality over the one I've had recentlyAdsolution wrote:I actually totally disagree. Re: Something Bothering you?/Daily Doldrums
I'm facing some computer troubles. Mostly that my desktop has a hard time with booting up and sleeping. For a long time it's required a lot of coaxing to finally get it up and running, even after I first set up the damn thing, but just recently it also refuses to stay sleeping when I tell it to. I put it to sleep for the reason that I don't want to put up with having to constantly turn it off and on again when I want to boot it up.
I'm running a full scan with Malwarebytes right now to see if it's contracted a boot virus of some sort and then see about deleting a couple of recent updates that may be causing it to have trouble sleeping.
