Don't make me bring up the raymanian flower ritual again...
And on the note of Tarayzan being scrapped, anyone else still wondering whether or not he is actually Rayman's cousin?

Of course. There always have been.
Of course. not. I mean, why did the developers decide to turn the Magician and the photographers into teensies then? wasn't that unneccesary? wasn't that pointless? the only reasonable explanation is that they decided to scrap rayman's species and change them for teensies; that would also explain why they decided to scrap Tarrayzan, his name is a clear reference to rayman's species, so he couldn't be turned into a teensie. This theory, mixed with the return of Rayman's girlfriend makes a delicious bullshit cocktail for my mind, hmmmmmmmmmmmmm yummy.
Again, how could this girl be Rayman's cousin? seriously, romantic music, holding each other's hands, kiss on bald head. What else do you want to understand that this girl is rayman's girlfriend? a french kiss? hot giggity-hardcore raymanian SEX? Even if the developers drawn hearts all over their heads, you wouldn't believe that they are a couple because it's "just fraternal love" or something like that

bah
RAYDNECKS ARE EVERYWHERE, YOU CAN'T HELP IT.
Now let's go fuck our cousins.

Inbred raymanians... ._.
Gosh, I really hope the teensies were high when they made this up, it would be so creepy to think that every strand of Rayman's hair is alive...

Rayman Origins seems to trip itself up with regards to this subject, but it’s still clear that other members of Rayman’s species exist. They’ve been around since the first game, and they’re still around now. The mosaic is proof enough for me.

When did I say that she wasn’t his girlfriend? As for the likelihood that she’s his cousin, I thought my logic was clear, but I guess I have to spell it out.
In the original game, we meet only five characters who are members of Rayman’s species; three of them members of a single family. It appears that these beings are very rare, especially in light of the Rayman 2 manual, which states that the inhabitants of the Glade of Dreams had never seen one before they encountered Rayman. From the unused text on the Rayman Origins disc, we have determined that the developers intended Tarayzan to be Rayman’s cousin. Rayman was created by the nymphs. The manual and the Bubble Dreamer’s dialogue tie limblessness directly to the nymphs’ creation process. From this it’s reasonable to conclude that Tarayzan was another one of their ‘recipes’, in the Bubble Dreamer’s words. If Rayman and Tarayzan were created by the nymphs, and are considered ‘cousins’, it’s not too crazy to conclude that the same holds true for the other three or four members of the species we’ve encountered.

Hmmm. What Spiral said makes quite a lot of sense, actually.
I can just imagine the nymph sisters' dissapointment when they tried to replicate Betilla's hero but ended making hippies and a jungle-man.

I've got a theory that might help to fit it into the canon.
After Rayman 1, everyone was so afraid of Rayman's powers (big enough to defeat Mr Dark) that they begged him to shave (thus losing one of his most important powers). Then, some girl fell in love with his bald head. Rayman quite enjoyed the attention. But his hair was out for revenge and so it came back. The girl was shocked by this creepy bush that had appeared on his head and started chasing him around. Rayman escaped thanks to his regained gliding power. But after falling off that cliff at the end of the story, he fell straight into the sea.
Later, he washed up the shores of the Glade of Dreams and was found by a fisherman. And we all know the story from here.

The Rayman 2 manual says that Rayman washed up on the shores of the Glade of Dreams before he defeated Mr Dark.

Rayman is a time traveller, obviously!

Oh. There goes my theory. :/
So then he just escaped to a Raymanian-free part of the Glade to make sure he'd never see that Raywoman again?

Ha, can you imagine if Ubisoft were reading this and they used all our ideas in the next game? XD
"Well, 'Rayman in Time' is essentially the game that connects the storylines of the previous games... Sort of..."

Would be EPIC! It'd be like seeing our ideas and theories come true!
I think that maybe Tarayzan was a...failed project.Maybe the nymphs were trying to create a hero and created Tarayzan, but he was somewhat stupid,so they decided to try again and then Rayman was created at the second try.

Quite possibly. I'd just really like to see him return in any forture Rayman game.

Here's Electoon's drawing of what Tarayzan probably would've looked like in RO.

Hmmm... I think I can use droolie's templates and my digital drawing skills to make a recreation of the musician and tarrayzan...

ಠoಠ Wutttt...?
This conversation has gone quite hilarious.
I wonder if Rayman's species could all be considered cousins because the Nymphs created them, if everything in the Glade could be considered each other's cousin because Polokus created it. ... that would lead to all sorts of weird mind-rapes; not only is everything that ever became of everything else now incestuous, also all the baddies are supposedly related to everything else, which makes them even more evil for wanting to wipe everything from existance since they'd be wiping their own families out.

Wait. So everyone in the Glade of Dreams can only do their cousins.
