 But aren't videogames supposed to be surrealistic and make us wonder and not remind us of this evil world?

That 'invoked' thing could be an interesting way for UbiSoft to get more story out of this. Rayman could really be from somewhere else, which means they could make another game entirely with only him in it and nobody else we recognise and no other places from any of the other games. Following the logic of all the other games in the series, this would actually work out pretty well. However, personally, I'm okay with the way Spiral sees it - Rayman was created by the Nymphs, not summoned. I like it a lot more that he was intentionally limbless. The comic 'oops I ran out of Lums' thing just doesn't do it for me.

I concur, Rayman actually being a limbless and of the G.o.D, rather than some other world of godknowswhat works better for me.

Has there been any news regarding the 3DS version yet? It seems weird since there's less than a month left. The Vita version had info about the game out waaay before its release didn't it?

Is it? Well they are overrated maybe for fans, but no! You talk to someone out of here, ask if they know who Rayman is and they'll say: "No! So you play that childish games? :B "

That's weird. When I do that, I get "Oh Rayman! I have one of those games!". It even works with teachers - I once somehow managed to get one to walk around the classroom singing the Rayman 2 theme :P

'Any idea how lucky you are, sis? In Vancouver, you'll either get a "what's Ray-Man?" or TeensieKing's example response.

You and Electoon both live in places Rayman sold extremely well - say, wasn't Rayman the top-selling Playstation game of all time in the UK? It sure was. In other parts of the world, he's almost non-existent. Origins is by far the most popular he's ever been around most parts of the world, and still in many places, it's one of the most unpopular franchises of all time. Never in my life have I seen a Rayman commercial on TV, or anything relating to Rayman on display except for one Origins poster beside a bunch of other series' posters at Electronics Boutique.

Nice! I have one friend who likes Rayman, and it only happened recently after he found a copy of Rayman 2 for his Dreamcast (isn't that the BEST way to be introduced to Rayman, seriously?), and he loved it. He then calls me about a week ago telling me he got the Vita with Origins, and he also loved it, which is also when I found out about his Rayman 2 adventure. Joy!

The best way get introduced to rayman would be:
1) hear the beatiful music from the origional rayman
2) search for the game
3) play it
4) ???
5) profit!

True. That music is literally one of the best pieces of all games, ever.

On the topic of Rayman being over/underrated, I once mentioned it in I.T. class and quite a few people knew of it's existence.
But, I live in the UK, and like RayFan said, it was one of the best-selling PS1 games here.
