Well in that case, since I can't play the game, maybe I should listen to this terrible soundtrack after you upload it to make myself feel better about not playing it. :fou:

Just as a follow up, I heard one of the tracks that MilesTheCreator shared when I was asking others about their opinion on the soundtrack for Rayman Mini. All I can say is wow it's really annoying!

Hi everyone. I wanted to do a re-rip of Rayman 2 (a sort of challenge) that maybe I'll share when it's done. Basically, I'm trying to obtain the highest quality possible, the less missing tracks (because maybe someday there'll be another proto that will be discovered with probably more tracks), no duplicates, and eventually accurate names according to the prefix in the files.
The issue is that I can't complete the soundtrack with the Revolution music versions, since the *.VSC banks contain a total of 24 302 segments.
It's almost 1.8GB of music while it's just Sony 4-bit ADPCM, 22050Hz, Stereo. The reason why it is so big and that there are 24 302 segments can be explained by the fact that each .VSC reuse music, so there are always ton of duplicates.
I wanted to ask Droolie how he managed to do it in the past, because I can't imagine myself working with 24 302 segments.
To me it would be too much time consuming. Moreover, I might do some mistakes because I can't memorise everything to know if a segment is new, or a little variation of another one, etc.

Thanks in advance,

Sorry to disappoint, but this is exactly what I did. I ripped Revolution by just listening to all of the segments and only using what's new. The segments are different enough to not make any mistakes. Just casually listening to it over multiple days was enough.

Thank you for responding. I already did this for a lot of other games, that's why. I was hoping for a better way. I don't want to be seen as a lazy person, because that's totally the opposite.

No worries. It's not fun to have to brute force this kind of thing... but I didn't find a better way for Revolution back in the day.

Hmmm, now that I think about it, if you have all the segments extracted separately, wouldn't something like Double Killer work to get rid of the duplicates?

Droolie wrote: Sat Oct 19, 2019 9:44 pm Hi RPC!

Just posting here to give an overview of what I'm planning for RayTunes:
Soon™:
- Rayman Mini soundtrack (I'm working on it)
- Rayman Adventures soundtrack update (I missed a few songs)
- Rayman 1 soundtrack update with tracks from the recently discovered prototype
Later:
- Rayman Raving Rabbids 2
- Tonic Trouble DVD soundtrack

RayTunes is still alive! :)
Remember this post? Well, all of this is now on RayTunes. That includes the "later" part. Enjoy! :)

Thank you for everything. As for Rayman Revolution, it worked. I'm still working on the soundtrack.

It's not all bad, but for a lot of it, well... think the Muddibog track from Rayman 3 taken to the next level; I even had to name one track "cacophony" because of it:

"Tonic Trouble (Official)" near the bottom of the games list. If you don't see it, you might need to clear your cache. It's just an official soundtrack whereas the others are rips, so it's mostly the same tracks (although there is some new stuff), but in much higher quality. :)

I switched to Google Chrome, now I can see them. I haven't heard the spanish version of the Tonic Trouble intro in ages, thanks a lot for the new tracks .

Droolie, this is amazing work!

I can imagine the agony of listening to those Mini tracks.
I’ll still give those a listen anyways since I don’t plan to download the game. :P

And speaking of Tonic Trouble, I believe that there are still two N64 tracks missing.

I was wondering, are the names of the Rayman 3 tracks that appear in RayTunes official or are they names created by fans to help identify each piece of music?

Droolie and/or Killy (creator of the 1st release).
There wasn't official OST, so names neither.
