Re: Rayman Origins

I'm definitely looking forward to seeing better R2 Rayman skins. The one I made was just a quick test.
If it's a test, then it turned out great! Haruka on THEdragon will probably be the first to get on this. I might jump in at some point to create Yoda-teensie too.Drolpiraat wrote:I'm definitely looking forward to seeing better R2 Rayman skins. The one I made was just a quick test.
Believe me, I would, but I don't have Rayman Origins.RayFan9876 wrote: If it's a test, then it turned out great! Haruka on THEdragon will probably be the first to get on this. I might jump in at some point to create Yoda-teensie too.
My loyalty is flawless.RayFan9876 wrote:His name in the game is actually "DarkRay." It was written in one of the textures Drolpiraat ripped.I love how loyal you are to terrible-sounding translations of the original game.
There aren't actually a whole lot of different sprites for Rayman in Origins - hardly any actually compared to what you might think, so achieving a Rayman 1 look wouldn't be that difficult. For animations... that's another story.spiraldoor wrote:I assume it’s possible to modify any texture in the game, not just playable characters? Could we insert sprites from other games? It would be great to see a literal R1 Rayman running around in there, though some of the animations are very different, particularly when it comes to combat, so I’m not sure how much work something like this would require.
You can replace a Teensy's head with a dick and it'll even look right.RayFan9876 wrote:There aren't actually a whole lot of different sprites for Rayman in Origins - hardly any actually compared to what you might think, so achieving a Rayman 1 look wouldn't be that difficult. Yes, that you can do.Rulez wrote:You can replace a Teensy's head with a dick and it'll even look right.RayFan9876 wrote:There aren't actually a whole lot of different sprites for Rayman in Origins - hardly any actually compared to what you might think, so achieving a Rayman 1 look wouldn't be that difficult. You can modify any texture and it doesn't stop there. You can also modify the videos (intro/outro/logos/etc), any sound/music (they're just *.wav files) and any line of text (assuming you know how the script file from the Xbox 360 version worked - this one is the same).spiraldoor wrote:‘DarkRay’ sounds pretty bad as well.

Rayman 1 style Rayman was something that was on my mind ages ago, before all this hacking lark was even discoveredspiraldoor wrote: It would be great to see a literal R1 Rayman running around in there
I have a problem with this. I'm on a windows 7, and when I put the file dds to open with paint.net, i can't change it back to tga.ckd because it stays a dds file. Help?Drolpiraat wrote:Sorry for the delay. Here's a huge guide for something that shouldn't take too long to do once you get used to it.

Okay, so it turned out a little bigger than I thought it would be. If it's too hard, don't hesitate to send me your edited textures from the texture pack, then I'll make them into custom skins for you.
Which part?Haruka wrote:Hey guys: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6DAC69EA2ED2B53D
I've done my Rayman Origins PC DEMO walkthrough.
I only experience one problem: there is a moment that the screen gets partially black, as you can observe in the video. Does anyone has got the same issue and knows how to fix it?
You have to save it as a dds file with Paint.NET and later, after you've closed the image in Paint.NET, rename the *.dds file to *.tga.ckd. That should workRayman fan2000 wrote:I have a problem with this. I'm on a windows 7, and when I put the file dds to open with paint.net, i can't change it back to tga.ckd because it stays a dds file. Also, Haruka, are you only getting that problem when you're recording videos or also when you're playing normally?
