I'm definitely looking forward to seeing better R2 Rayman skins. The one I made was just a quick test. ;)

If it's a test, then it turned out great! Haruka on THEdragon will probably be the first to get on this. I might jump in at some point to create Yoda-teensie too.

Believe me, I would, but I don't have Rayman Origins.

‘DarkRay’ sounds pretty bad as well.

I assume it’s possible to modify any texture in the game, not just playable characters? Could we insert sprites from other games? It would be great to see a literal R1 Rayman running around in there, though some of the animations are very different, particularly when it comes to combat, so I’m not sure how much work something like this would require.

There aren't actually a whole lot of different sprites for Rayman in Origins - hardly any actually compared to what you might think, so achieving a Rayman 1 look wouldn't be that difficult. For animations... that's another story.

You can replace a Teensy's head with a dick and it'll even look right.

Yes, that you can do.

You can modify any texture and it doesn't stop there. You can also modify the videos (intro/outro/logos/etc), any sound/music (they're just *.wav files) and any line of text (assuming you know how the script file from the Xbox 360 version worked - this one is the same).
Even modifying the animation files (*.anm.ckd) would be possible if we only knew how. I suspect that when the UbiArt framework is released, it will use the same animation data files, so we might be able to change the animations from within the framework itself. I have taken a look at the object files (*.act.ckd) and scene files (*.isc.ckd) and even those don't seem to be compressed, so with the help of the UbiArt framework we might be able to change it - thus being able to modify the entire game. Thank Ubisoft for not encrypting the files. ;)

Short answer: Yes, it's already possible to put a literal R1 Rayman in the game. ;)

Also, rofl @ Rulez. I will never be able to unsee it. :P

Rayman 1 style Rayman was something that was on my mind ages ago, before all this hacking lark was even discovered :P

I'd love to work on getting Tarayzan back in the game, but right now I have lots of other projects on the go, most notably an insane amount of homework. Sometimes I feel like they don't want anyone to have leisure time at all Image

Okay, so it turned out a little bigger than I thought it would be. If it's too hard, don't hesitate to send me your edited textures from the texture pack, then I'll make them into custom skins for you. ;)
I have a problem with this. I'm on a windows 7, and when I put the file dds to open with paint.net, i can't change it back to tga.ckd because it stays a dds file. Help?

Hey guys: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6DAC69EA2ED2B53D

I've done my Rayman Origins PC DEMO walkthrough. :)

I only experience one problem: there is a moment that the screen gets partially black, as you can observe in the video. Does anyone has got the same issue and knows how to fix it?

You have to save it as a dds file with Paint.NET and later, after you've closed the image in Paint.NET, rename the *.dds file to *.tga.ckd. That should work ;)

Also, Haruka, are you only getting that problem when you're recording videos or also when you're playing normally?

I have it also when playing normally. I have no idea why I have this problem, because in my Windows 7 laptop the glitch does not exist. My desktop PC has got Windows XP, but is it because my screen is 4:3 that makes it glitch? It shouldn't.
