Hi I'm Isen Degard! I've been a long time fan of the Rayman series. I thought I'd get active in the community again, but I'm not really sure if these forums are all that active.

Sup, welcome to the forums. We're still a decently active place actually, but take in mind that this a majorly European community, it can be tough to catch the busiest hours in a different time zone. Personally though, I've never had a much of a problem with it.

Xenon wrote:My own oddball take is that there have been five "generations" on this forum. First we had the period before I registered, which I have to say mainly consisted of stupid people. Then my early days, after RaymanZone was killed. 2008 spawned an entirely new generation (and most people in the previous generations left) - the Holy Crap era if you will. Then 2010, which was quite cool I suppose. And the current mob of forum frequenters has probably been going on since 2013 or summin.
I've been around (properly around) since the Summer of 2011, which put me sort of in the middle of those last two generations. I witnessed one bunch of people from the community leave and a new 'crew' stream in. It was a weird experience and I sometimes sorta miss those old days, discussing the possibilities of the 'all-new Rayman Origins!' and its plot points and discoveries that would be made... spiraldoor theorising away, the Quiz a place where I could still sort of win possibly, Record Day madness with Ads and Rulez... seems so long ago now.
I guess it sort of is, too.

Anyway, that isn't to say this place isn't enjoyable as it is now. It's simply different.

And on that nostalgic note, welcome to the forum, Isen Degard, PiekarzPL and StillWaiting! Hope to see you all throw a nostalgic banter down the line in a few years' time.

Hello Isen Degard! Like Keane said, while there are antipodean members, most of us are Europeans and post accordingly. Nonetheless I hope you're able to slot into the more active times of day and have a grand ol' time~

Aye. I came in with the release of the first(?) Origins trailer and my main period of activity was Summer '10 to Summer '11 - just before you got down n' dirty in the orgy that is RPC. Guess we could call ourselves the Origins generation? The Holy Crap folk were still out in force when I was around, so I too feel like I'm between generations. Those were some crazy days to be sure, especially considering how much Off Topic was conducted through the IRC and kept off the forum proper.

In a way I got the best of both worlds. In my limited experience I do consider the Holy Crap era to possibly be RPC's best in terms of community (a great mix of serious discussion and absolute insanity), but the IRC was a great outlet for that too. For all little Candish's quirks, I have fantastic memories of that time. She was very lucky to hit the sweet spot!

I'd love it if Xen's semi-official terminology catches on. A community of RPC's stature deserves nothing less.

:? Damn. Yeah, that is pretty... weird. It is part of the reason I always come back though. Raymanzone was my first time going online. Thanks to that Rayman2 booklet. :hinhin: Then thanks to Matyuv's actions on there advertising PC, I found it and thought it was pretty cool. I think you can see that I was still a nub and was budding in my earlier years. Now I am older and wiser.
