Re: Pluses (+) and minuses (−) of this day.
+ I have pretty much finished my entry for SotM. I'm glad I had time to really work it out this weekend. In fact I've worked it out so much that I'm wondering whether to turn the supplementary material into a series of sigs... yeah I overdid this.
Re: Pluses (+) and minuses (−) of this day.
+ teh fukin nerd!1! (Yes, I beated the game. Again.)
+ There will be no tests to close my primary school year. Yeepee!
Re: Pluses (+) and minuses (−) of this day.
- Had a pretty shit school day. Suddenly I've got a huge review, essay, and double side worksheet to all finish within two days.
+ But on the bright side: I'm really close to having nine days off, and it's going be glorious.
+/- I'm really liking this counseling group I'm in, but the problem is that I'll allow myself to get a little too comfy and then when it's over and I have to right back into the anxious school environment it feels twice as heavy.
+ Think I might invite someone to go do some cool shit with me.

Definitely make good use of it! Spend time doing what you love, and also with any new friends you're interested in, if you can.Keane wrote:+ But on the bright side: I'm really close to having nine days off, and it's going be glorious.
- Online courses might sound like luxury, but really, the fact that you're working of your own accord means that no day is allowed to be a day-off, at least by my family's standards. If I can work, I should be working, apparently. No weekends, people always looking over your shoulder and breathing down your neck, and on top of that, everyone telling me that I have it 'easy'. Well, anyone of 'you' are perfectly free to take online courses as well - if you want its benefits at the expense of ditching your physical-school benefits, then do it you God-damn masochists.
That's good to hear. I so wish I knew you in-person, I feel like we'd have a great time, even with something as simple as just laying back and listening to music.Keane wrote:+/- I'm really liking this counseling group I'm in, but the problem is that I'll allow myself to get a little too comfy and then when it's over and I have to right back into the anxious school environment it feels twice as heavy.
- My mother's been getting even more and more retarded with when things are supposed to be quiet. Not one year ago I was supposed to be as silent as outer space by 12:30, and recently, she barges into my room while I'm playing piano at 21:30, and starts screaming on about how I must be autistic because I seem to not grasp the fact that she and my brother have to get up early: "What's your problem?! What's wrong with you?!? You're fucking selfish, all you do is take, take and take..." (what, you work at home, you can literally start work whenever you want to, and my brother gets up at 7:00 or 9:00 depending on the day. Besides, I thought the curfew was... three hours later than you now think it is, apparently.)
+ Went to sleep at 23:00 and woke up at 4:00, and I feel great. That means I have a good few hours of privacy before other people get up, and I won't be criticised for staying up late.

Wow, you get enough out of five hours of sleep? I feel and probably look like four pounds of shit in a three pound bag after five hours. Still, better than three, Shrooblord, you nimrod.

Re: Pluses (+) and minuses (−) of this day.
Sometimes. If I'm used to sleeping for a while (over 7-8 hours) I typically cannot stop myself from sleeping for long periods of time unless I skip a night, and I feel absolutely terrible every time I sleep longer than that (physically, I feel like a decomposing shitblob). When I skip said night and set an alarm the night after that for about six hours after I plan to fall asleep, I have no trouble waking up after 5-6 hours every day after that until I eventually fuck up my sleeping schedule again. I've found I sleep better during the cold, too (provided I have a blanket or two). I believe the reason for this is that the cold stimulates your muscles, whereas heat relaxes them, which affects you hardcore when you finally wake up.
It's one of the reasons I love Winter so much, I feel so much more awake, and I get to witness the Sun both rising and falling because I'm not sleeping through it. My body really was not built for warm temperatures, it just ceases to function properly above 20 C without wind, hence that time I was playing guitar like a drunk guy who hadn't slept in days when it was hovering between 30-35 in my room, trying to record the part for your track.
The tropics, on the other hand, are more manageable. Hawaii and the Yucatan have absolutely stunning climates, it's warm but incredibly fresh, it's like heaven. Western Mexico (Puerto Vallarta, for instance) is absolutely awful; it's not much warmer, but the Sun is scorching in the most unpleasant way and the air sucks ass - it might almost be like actually living inside an asshole - it feels like you're bathing in your own sweat. I kind of want to go to Hawaii again (I've been there twice), it's a beautiful place.

I usually feel like you do when I sleep for more than 9 hours. I need 8 to 9 hours to be comfortable when I wake up, but any more and I've wasted part of my day rotting away in my bed. Still, I guess my brain's doing some awesome stuff regulating just about everything and putting stuff back in balance while asleep, so whatever. If it thinks it needs more time, it needs more time (though I woke up at 17:30 once and that, I can tell you, is no joke).
Re: Pluses (+) and minuses (−) of this day.
Some people need more or less sleep in order to be efficient. It depends on everybody. I'll say I'm in the 8-9 hours category, but even with that I usually have to take a coffee so I can be fully awake.Shrooblord wrote:Wow, you get enough out of five hours of sleep? Same here. I've found something very interesting: most of the time, sleeping doesn't affect the day immediately following but the next one. I can feel fully functional after a very short night if the previous one was long enough. However, the next day, even if I slept 10 hours, I will feel like shit.Adsolution wrote:Sometimes. Is it really wind? Humidity plays a big role into the temprature 'felt' by your body. If the air is very dry, you will feel less hot than if it was 50/70-ish%. That's why I don't like 'Tropics', because usually Tropics have a very humid climate. Even Sahara can feel less hot. Hawaii is an exception because it's very oceanic for a climate: there is always the influence of the ocean, and the wind created by pressure differentials.Adsolution wrote:My body really was not built for warm temperatures, it just ceases to function properly above 20 C without wind
I would say that usually West Coast has the best climate due to it being on the West (and not the East, where it always feels heavy). That's why I enjoyed Seattle more than anywhere else in the US, because the climate is very close to the West of France
+ Feeling very efficient today!
+ next Lol video is on the move. French one this time!
-/+ Gotta go pick up food at my mom' work place. They made a buffet and didn't finish some meals. Aw maaan...

Re: Pluses (+) and minuses (−) of this day.
– Apparently "nimrod" took on a derogatory meaning fairly recently in the history of humanity, and we poor east-Atlanticers weren't privy to it.
– One of my favourite scenes of Frasier has a line hinging on that.
+ That's not a real problem.
– I don't have any clue how my sleeping schedule works anymore tbh.

Re: Pluses (+) and minuses (−) of this day.
- Was happily texturing a Henchman's eye socket when the program decided to crash on me a grand total of seven times in ten minutes. That made me give up for today.
+ At least got somewhere. Also made a neat intake fan texture to go googly-eyes at if you ever happen to hold a skull in your hands... if you ever wondered how a Henchman breathes, well, there you go.
+ Had fun singing in my acapella group.

Of course get painting! Look what we can do with painting!Shrooblord wrote:better get painting!
+++ Just finished it a few minutes ago. Probably my best painting replications so far. Lighting effects finally approached the original artwork by a margin significant enough to me. There are details I was not able to reproduce, but for obvious reasons (the size of them details vs the size of my brushes XD).
+ Interview in a few hours.
+ The second year guy from my school managed to order champaign and glasses for this weekend. Jeez, everything is going as planned (aside from the fact I will definitely be broke at the beginning of december, but whatever...).
