Hmm, weird. Mario driving a Mercedes isn't exactly a sight one sees often.

In other news: http://www.kotaku.co.uk/2014/05/29/nint ... pter-wii-u
So, not only are Ninty planning on making a new GCN inspired controller, they're maintaining support for the original, huh.

Aha, I'll fix the post for ya, but just for reference, here's how YouTube embedding works:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMQySEjyCUw

You need to paste the video ID, it's the code that comes after the v=, so in this case: eMQySEjyCUw
Paste it like so:

Code: Select all

And you get:

-----

Anyways, so, I need to watch this trailer.

Sorry, I know, the HYPE just made me lose my better sense of judgement! :D

I'm SO excited for this, though. I know others here may not but, like:

-Professional players from the Smash community.
-Well known commentators from the Smash community (I love D1 myself).
-Nearly the entire announced cast is playable, including all of my most hyped characters.
-OFFICIAL USB GAMECUBE ADAPTER

Nintendo has ALL of my money right now. I really hope they bundle the adapter with the game when it comes out.

Hehe, it does sound like there's a lot for you to be excited about, though Smash isn't really as big to me, so I'll probably keep an eye out, but won't be as ecstatic. I hope that Ninty does shine with their presentation of it though.

So in about 9 hours, I'll be heading down to GameStop to pick up my copy of Mario Kart 8.

If anyone wants to hook up and play in it, let me know! ^.^

We should play with each other some time!

I'm currently focused on finishing all of the single-player stuff to unlock all of the stamps and get the Golden Parts, so I may miss messages from people requesting me to join them (Nintendo really need to patch a proper message/invite system into the game, Miiverse is terrible for organising this stuff), but I can solely focus on online play after that.

My NNID is sonicbrawler182, if anyone else wants to play.

I'd be down to race with you, but I want to get some practice, as I said, I haven't owned a Mario Kart since Double Dash. Also, my Wii U's internet connection is very spotty, I'm trying to see what the problem is.

If it's just your Wii U acting up but everything else is working fine, then it's probably because you have your Wii U too far away from your wireless router. The Wii U has terrible Wi-Fi range, you need to be fairly close. I recommend being no more than a room away, or else you'll have problems. This has been a hassle for myself. I have an amazing internet set-up, but while my other systems work just fine in my game room, the Wii U can't stay connected consistently.

I'm going to be resolving this eventually by getting an extension for my router, but for now, I'll be moving my Wii U into another room when I want to play online. I had to do this back when I was competing in the Rayman Legends Showdown.

I'll try moving it to another room, the weird thing is though, I have my PS3 in the same room, and it works like a dream. And technically, my Wii U is closer to my router than my PS3.

I'm in the exact same situation, all of my other gaming systems are in the same room and work perfectly. It's just an inherent problem with the Wii U. I even tried stretching the wires out as much as I could, basically having my Wii U sitting in the middle of my games room, but it still had problems. It can do smaller tasks right now, but I can't reliably play online without taking it closer. In my dad's house, I can play just fine since the router is much closer to the Wii U naturally, despite the fact my dad's internet speed is nowhere near as good as in my Mam's house.

Mario Kart 8's impressive, really liking Mount Wario, it's such a neat track. The only thing I wish is that they'd kept battle stages, the only track where you can kinda battle is Moo Moo Meadows because the others are just too large.

While Mario Kart 8 is awesome, there are a number of things I hope they patch, as it does have a few issues and weird omissions. The biggest things for me is the lack of an invite/notification system online, which makes setting up games with friends much more difficult and time consuming, and I also dislike how the game doesn't use the GamePad for two player split-screen, and to add insult to injury, the two player split-screen in this is vertical, not horizontal, which is terrible for a racing game. It's still playable but I have to sit closer to the TV than I normally would when playing split-screen.
