No, I was only saying I agreed with you on the fact that they tried to mislead him, that's all. This is like the 10th time people have misunderstood me, I really need to word my posts better I guess
I still think the witches are evil, there's even a bit where they mention something about being able to sense evil energy due to Macbeths arrival

The witches are mainly chaotic and tulmultuous, not evil. With phrases like "foul is fair and fair is foul", they clearly hint at their meaning to throw everything around them out of whack, making what was good evil and what is evil appear good. Maybe they're more misleading and tempting, almost like a deal with the Devil. Perhaps that's your definition of evil.

Ambidextroid wrote:I agree with saerleiya, I think they misled him on purpose, to confuse him. Was there not some witch mother or something that scolded them? The witches live for evil, not to help some petty human, so they stopped helping him and lead him to his death.
You're talking about Hecate, and you're right, she did tell the witches to lead him to his doom, since he hadn't been a faithful servant. She basically told them to deliberately mislead him, with her "Security is mortal's chiefest enemy" (a quote on which I was able to correct an English teacher one time

).
However, need I mention that the authorship of that scene has been disputed, and to many it doesn't properly gel with the rest of the play.
@GOT4N: "Succeeded" is the past tense of "succeed", but the word you were looking for here was "passed", I think.
