Hey, rmg22 is back! :)

I think the mosquito ones are actually the worst in four-player co-op, because I had trouble seeing the level because of all the screen clutter. Granted, I have a tiny screen, so that's a big factor.

Fair enough, I do have a large enough screen to eliminate the clutter, so we can all see ourselves clearly.

Aha, I still have yet to experience multiplayer in Origins. Could the people who have played multiplayer for the majority be those who say Rayman Origins is ridiculously easy? I've heard the game is phenomenally easier when playing with others.

I still hadn't the chance to test the multiplayer, but I heard the gameplay gets chaotic when there are 3/4 players in the screen.

I've probably spent more time watching people on youtube play this game than me play it myself. There's one channel that I'm currently watching where 4 players are playing through the game. It's a laugh riot to watch. They always feel the need to slap each other once reaching a door. Whenever they screw someone up it always ends in laughter. It's just great entertainment. It's also fun to see which of them notcies a secret and tells the other the hold on.

When we return to the Snoring tree to switch up players, usually I wait by the Bubble Dreamer to Slap them clean through the door.

Also if 2 players are Globox and Red Globox, and both are holding right on the joy pad when a screen loads the characters perfectly overlap each other.

In fact me and a friend almost did an entire tricky treasure without being able to see the other (I was Ninja Teensie, he was Goth Teensie) we mirrored our actions to a T.

Wouldn't you guys bounce off of each others' heads if you even skewed slightly off-centre?

If one person does slip up it happens, but after about the thousandth try we were spot on, IIRC it was the the one in the Sea of Serendipity

Well if you have three other controllers, you could actually connect the 3 other heroes after the fight with the Mechas, just before returning in Magicians office. That could work.

I think learning the game is easier with multiple people; it's more fun and you get into it so much faster. Also, you'll have each other to back each other up when one of you dies, so that makes life easier. I've also used the 'Immunity' (will be explained upon request) trick with a friend multiple times in the Land of the Livid Dead when we were trying to finish that (don't worry - I finished it on my own before, but I wanted him to finish it too). I can play the whole game by myself though without too much trouble, but a little more restarts of the area because of death - I can deal with that. Maybe I just have 7E3T gaming skills and am not one to use as an example.

With that same friend, I had the same thing happening to me in one of the Tricky Treasures. We never bounced off each other, but had a lot of times when one would slap into a trap or fall down a hole while the other wouldn't. Looked like someone was just splicing himself in two when that happened. It was in that Tricky Treasure where you can't see anything but silhouettes ( I think the second forest world one) so that made it look even more convincing.

only played alone (I have only one pad anyway) but before moving on to a new world, I usually made sure I had all the lums and time trial medals for the current world. so I gained much more skills than by just finishing the levels.


what do you think are the hardest skull coins? If I'm not forgetting any, I would say the following ones :

5th : Climb out : you have to jump between rotating wheels and avoid spiky enemies
4th : Golly G. Golem. 2nd area. you step on a rock, and it falls down, as well as the skull coin, right in the precipice.
3rd : Mystical monkeys. End of the level, you are on the elevator, and it is on the side, right above a huge tentacle.
2nd/1st : Golly G.Golem. 3rd area. right over a set of spikes.
2nd/1st : skyward sonata. the one that is inside a device that closes / opens like jaws. I don't think it's the hardest by itself, but if you lost time trying to get every bonus before, it proves very hard to get it.

I played a few times together with my mother, but I can't say things are incredibly easy with more players. Maybe that's because she's not as experienced with video games. It's nice to have a partner to slap you out of bubblization when you need it though.

The idea that the characters are turning into balloons when they die is one of the best things in RO. The idea probably came from Tonic Trouble. Its very funny. By the way, when youre in the mini size, you can use the bubblized enemies as platforms without popping them. I do that a lot in Dragon Soup with the Baby Chef Dragons.

For myself, I wait until I have all the powers to begin any time trials or lum quests, since that way I can get a better score.

Finally tried the PC version, and first time I ever played it in HD. My impressions? woah.

Seriously, in HD it feels like a different game, not just for the lack of those stupid pixelated characters, but also the fact that the animations are more fluid, the backgrounds are more detailed, the lines of the animations are SO ALIVE. Playing this just made me think that the Wii version sucks balls. Seriously, I don't usually care about HD, but on this game, it IS obligatory. Also, the size of my laptop fits better with the small-sized characters, now I can see them more clearly without my mom complaining about me being too close to the tv. And the sound, f*cking christ, I FINALLY can hear Globox's sound effects. too bad it's just a demo, and I'm not paying for the full retail, I have the full game already....for wii -_-

Hmm, don't you use Anti Aliasing on 3D games on the laptop? Or are you just downtalking the Wii for having awful edgy graphics? :lol:

Seriously ever since I discovered the magic of AA I can't stand looking at a game that doesn't support it. Rayman Origins doesn't really need it though.

Really? I played the Wii version in 720p when it came out, and when getting the PC version, it really didn't feel like much of an upgrade. It just seemed like the difference between a clear image and an image with 1% blur on it. I didn't even notice anymore fifteen minutes later.

Also, I never had a problem with Globox's sound effects.

I know, right? If the game doesn't natively support it, I'm immediately off to the nVidia control panel to force-render it into 32xQSAA. It looks dreamy on Rayman 3, especially in 1080p.

Before anyone calls me a hypocrite, I notice resolution far more in 3D games (especially shooters) than I do in 2D ones, since there are things often on the horizon that are useful to have in your vision.

I use 8xAA, I think 8 is enough because I don't really notice a difference after that level, and doing more would just eat RAM space. I also have EQ but I don't know what it is. Do you know?

AION was recently bought by Gameforge and it was made free so I tried it. But it recently moved to a new graphics engine that DOESN'T SUPPORT AA?! So I forced AA on it with my Cataclyst Control Center and everything glitched like madness on that game. I don't understand why those idiots switched to this terrible engine. ;-; Will AION be doomed with edgy graphics forever?

And this new Morphologic Filtering is crazy as hell. It softens literally everything, text included, and on top of that it softens way TOO MUCH

Crud I'm getting off topic here. Yeah, Rayman Origins on the PC looks amazing, enough said!

The Wii version is only 480p, so what you call 720p is actually upscaled 480p. I wonder how you could not notice the difference with five times as many pixels. :P

The only difference I spotted in the PC version in terms of graphics, is the downgrade of the cutscenes quality (Intro for example) if we compare with the PS3 version. Putting this in side, the PC version is graphically superior to the Wii without any doubt.
