Super Mario Brothers is the most addictive one.
I still need to understand what to do in Metroid. The games should have already the manuals.

Your goal is to go trough the maze and find all upgrades, as well as finding two bosses and defeating them. I believe all upgrades are necessary to get through certain parts int he game. The sequel (Which will soon come to the eShop) has a couple of optional upgrades. Make sure you check walls once you can use bombs! Sometimes they lead to secret rooms. One time I even found a huge new part hidden (Almost a entirely new area!) by simply destroying a wall. Once all bosses are defeated, find the room that will take you to the final boss.

I don't think I can ever get into SMB even for free, just never liked that one.

So it works more or less like TLOZ.

Thanks for explaining me.

While there are similarities, there are notable differences. Primarily, both 2D and 3D Metroids are a little more platformer-like. Moreover typical boss is defeated with a lot of spam, and bomb locations make 90% less sense.

I'd say that the games are equal. I prefer the 2D Metroid game over the old TLoZ games though. I've never actually played a Metroid game from GameCube era and up. I have watched my brother play it some years ago.

Every Metroid game up to Primes has been great in my opinion (not counting handheld versions here because I haven't yet tried the GBA one and 'Hunters' was pretty awful).
Other M was a tad disappointing though.

I've always wanted to play the Prime series, as watching my brother was very entertaining. The GBA games are pretty good! I once played a pirated version of Hunters, but I couldn't master the controls. I also how Metroid Pinball ever came to be...

I'd definitely recommend it! Prime series has to be my favourite from all of them.. which is funny because I normally steer away from everything that is in first-person.

And ouch, I totally forgot about Metroid Pinball. :'D Not sure if I ever want to play that one..
Btw, wasn't one of those GBA metroids supposed to come with the next 10 Ambassador games now?

Fusion is supposed to get out. It was basically base of MOM (I know, I played both), but the things typically hated in case of the last one are not present. Only annoying thing is difficulty - if you dodge everything, and I literally mean everything, it is supposedly very easy, but every hit is critical. In fact there is a boss which deals circa 250 damage without problems every 45 seconds, so.

I still have time

I couldn't really get into Castlevania (might be Circle of the Moon) though.. But that's probably because I sucked at it.

I still have Metroid's demo that came out in the release of the very first generation of the Nintendo DS.
