++ I've just come back from the contemporary class It was really great! The most wonderful studio as well. Plus, I've realised that a lump of christmas money will pay for a 12 week term - if you pay in bulk it's 1/6th cheaper - so I think I'll be back next week too!

+ I get to see my friends in person once again, at long last
+ My Game & Watch handheld is arriving in the post tomorrow
+ For donating to the long time independent developers behind "Dwarf Fortress", they actaully offered to hand draw a crayon picture of a dwarf brawling with a carp (as per my request) and they sent it, and it arrived in the post today! Ahh, what a masterpiece. I might share a photo of it sometime.

(+) No college for another week.
(-) Lost my glasses.
(-) No ideas for comic strips

+ Passed my geometry test with an A. no idea how that happened, but it took me from barely not passing to almost making a B in the class average.

+ The xx are probably putting an album out this year as well as Radiohead. it's probably gonna be closer to the end of the year but i'm pretty excited

When I tell my friends I want to play with them they usually look at me funny. I just want to play with them

To be honest, I can't imagine why they would look at you funny? Sucks to know if they don't take you seriously. Or have I misunderstood there something?

Asking someone to "play with you" out of context sounds pretty nasty. You're better off asking if they'd want to 'chill' or 'hang out', and procede to address them as 'ma nigga'.

Maybe if you're always the one to call them, they'll continue to expect you to be the one to call them? It's sort of like how my mother had always done the laundry, she one day a couple years got so pissed and had this raging breakdown that I never went and did it on my own - well I'm just respecting the routine that's been established. If she wanted change, she could simply have asked me to do the fucking laundry.

For one, it sounds very childish, since once you're older, people typically do other things than simply "play" together. Secondly, "playing" out of context (without referencing what's being played, simply "playing") is synonymous with "fooling around", which connotates to sexual foreplay.

If your friends are already playing video games or whatever, you could then say "Can I play (with you guys)?" because we know you're talking about video games, but even then, sometimes it'd sound more grown-up to say "Can I join in?"
