And so?

According to the Knowledge of the Yellow Lums, both Murfy and the Teensies exist since the beggining of times (After Polokus' birth of course).

Thanks for reminding me of one of my most shameful posts ever.

Just spotted a little something in one of the promo shots from last year:

Image

That looks like part of an animation sequence for a 'charged up' punch, ala Rayman 1. Have we seen that animation anywhere else? I couldn't see any sign of it in the trailer.

EDIT: Please ignore me if we've already covered this fifty pages back or whatever ;)

I've noticed that since I saw the trailer a first time.

I'm sure this photo corresponds to a later moment in the game, since the official blog says they started up with slappings.

Are you certain we see him doing that in the trailer? I've had a close look, and while there are lots of instances of punching and kicking I didn't spot any times where he was preparing to throw his fist :?:

As for your theory, that sounds pretty likely :)

Live360.fr posted another Rayman Origins article in January that we all missed. They don’t say much but at least it’s something:

Good video, I'll be also putting this in my channel.

A French native translator would be quite appreciated! I've understood little about what it was said, and I think that everyone else that doesn't know French wants to understand this interview.

I quite liked to see the team playing Rayman 1 in the archaic fat Playstation 1. :mryellow:

It’s remarkable how difficult it is to get a French-to-English translation on a forum which is half-French. I don’t suppose anyone would mind taking the time to tell us what they’re saying in the important parts (ie the Pix’n Love guys and the Rayman Origins bit)? Speaking of Pix’n Love, what about their article on the Rayman series, a translation of which has been in the works here since last year? How’s that coming along?

I've talked with Clara and she will translate the interview for us. :)

She also reported that there are interesting details in the interview.

When I succeed in adding the subtitles in the video that is already in my channel I'll warn you. ;)

EDIT:

It is ready!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWmVUtwpS2I

Indeed, there are interesting details:

Rayman's name origin is revealed. It was due to the program they used to do Rayman 1: "Ray-Tracing".

And the real reason of 2D Rayman 2 have been canceled was due to Crash Bandicoot: it amazed the entire Ubisoft team in the E3. :D This is fantastic!

So Rayman gets his name from...the software they were using?

That's rather underwhelming. :|

At least we already know the true reason for Rayman getting that name.

Complicated Wikipedia article about ray tracing comin' through

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ray_tracing_%28graphics%29

And nope there isn't a simple English version.

Is there any actual connection between Rayman and ray-tracing or did they just think the ‘ray’ part sounded cool?

Probabily the second chance.

*BUMP! - Sorry for double post*

Spring is 8 days away, and there are still no more informations about the game.

I start to think they are again saving further details for this year's E3, and we must probabily wait even more time until Autumn, Winter or even the next year.

I don't know if this is news but they removed the UBIart website on the Rayman Origins site. I can't find it anymore. The positif thing about this is that they still update the website. Have a look yourself: http://raymanorigins.uk.ubi.com/

Nah it's still all here. I really, REALLY wouldn't keep alarming yourselves each time the sites go down, for all we know it's probably just maintenance.
